    • PURPOSE:To obtain an equally distributed index layer having no local strain along the wall surface of a vessel by forming an initially deposited polymer layer on the wall surface of said vessel then depositing and laminating successively the polymer layers having different refractive indices on the polymer layer. CONSTITUTION:The monomer mixture having different monomer reactivity ratios and different refractive indices of the homopolymers obtainable from the respective monomers is prepd. Methyl methacrylate/vinyl benzoate and methyl methacrylate/acrylonitrile/vinyl benzoate are used as the example of the monomer mixture. An upper mold 2B is constituted of a transparent body and a lower mold 2A is constituted of an opaque monomer mixture which is poured into such mold 2. When light from a light source or electron rays 3 are irradiated to the monomer mixture, the polymn. reaction is initiated by the inside wall surface of the mold 2B and the intensity of the transmitted light of the light or electron rays is sharply attenuated toward the deep part and therefore the progression of the polymn. is slower in the place further from the light source. The polymn. progresses successively from the upper layer toward the deep part, by which the gel layers having different refractive indices are laminated and formed. The molding is subjected to a heat treatment to complete the polymn. when the entire part gels. The molding is then taken out of the mold 2.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a vessel wall surface free from local strain and having a uniform equal refractive index dispersion by providing an initial deposited polymer layer on a vessel wall and then depositing and laminating polymer layers different in refraction index in order on the initial polymer layer.
CONSTITUTION: The mixture 1 in which a small amount of benzoyl peroxide is added to a mixture composed, for example, of methyl metacrylate and vinyl benzoate with a small amount of benzoyl peroxide added to it is put in the mold 2 having a molding space enclosed by a flat mold surface 2A and a spherical mold surface 2B and is kept still setting with the flat mold surface 2A facing downward. Produced polymer continues to accumulate gradually on the flat mold surface 2B and finally the content in the mold is gelled. This gel is heat-treated, polymerized completely and taken out of the mold 2 to obtain a convex lens where the refraction indexf decreases gradually from the spherical side toward the optical axis.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the abrasion resistance of a polycarbonate resin molding, by applying a priming coat containing a specified copolymer to the surface of the polycarbonate resin molding, and then applying thereto a composition comprising an organopolysiloxane containing colloidal silica.
CONSTITUTION: A composition containing a copolymer comprising alkoxysilyl group-containing acrylic or/and vinyl monomers (e.g., vinyltrimethoxysilane) and another monomer copolymerizable therewith (e.g., methylacrylate), a curing catalyst (e.g., hydrochloric acid), and a crosslinking agent (e.g., ethylene glycol) is applied to a polycarbonate resin molding and cured to form a priming coat. A composition containing colloidal silica, a curing catalyst, and an organopolysiloxane (e.g., glycidoxymethyltrimethoxysilane) is applied to the priming coat and cured to form a top coat layer. In this way, the titled molding is obtained.
