    • PURPOSE:To enable to manufacture a large quantity of perfectly spherical gel particles at a time by a method wherein suspension polymerization is employed as the method to manufacture transparent spherical gel particles. CONSTITUTION:Monomer Ma to form reticular polymer Pa with refractive index Na is put in the predetermined vessel together with initiator, solvent and dispersant so as to suspension- polymerize at the predetermined temperature T1 deg.C, for the predetermined period of time t1 at the predetermined rotational frequency r1 (rpm) in order to manufacture a large quantity of transparent spherical gel particles at a time by polymerizing the monomer partially. The transparent gel particles are separated from the polymerized system by vacuum filtering. Next, said separated particles are added in a vessel containing monomer M to form polymer P with refractive index N , which is different from said Na, so as to polymerize at the predetermined temperature T2 deg.C for the predetermined period of time t2 in order to deffuse the monomer M from the surface to the center of the sphere and at the same time to polymerize, resulting in forming the distribution of refractive indices, which continuously change in the normal direction from the center to the periphery of the sphere. The resultant particles are separated from the system by vacuum filtering and dispersed into the water heated at the predetermined temperature T3 deg.C in the predetermined vessel in order to be heat-treated at the predetermined temperature t3 and rotational frequency r3 (rpm).
