    • PURPOSE:To access a magnetic disc at a high speed by giving a simple constitution to a carriage, which is a main body of a magnetic head access mechanism, without damaging its rigidity. CONSTITUTION:In the head access mechanism, a carriage constituting body 21 as the main body has a plane plate-shaped structure where punched holes 22 are provided in a ceramic plate material, and a part of the carriage constituting body is reinforced by a supporting member 29 to have a rib constitution, and the carraige constituting body 21 has a high rigidity as the whole and is made very light-weight. Consequently, when a movable coil 28 of the head access mechanism is inserted into a fixed magnetic circuit 31 while guided along guide rails 23 in upper and lower end parts, which are provided on the carriage constituting body 21, by a bearing 35 provided in the fixed magnetic circuit 31 to constitute a linear motor between this circuit and the head carriage constituting body, the carriage constituting body 21 is moved straightly at a high speed, and thus, each magnetic head 25 is positioned to a selected track position on a magnetic disc with a high precision.

    • PURPOSE:To constitute a titled device so that a magnetic head is scarcely shifted from a track position due to the temperature variation of the inside of a device by forming a magnetic disk by a glass plate having a magnetic layer on the surface, and also forming a magnetic head supporting arm of a magnetic head driving assembly by alumina or silicon nitride. CONSTITUTION:An arm 11 of a magnetic disk device is formed by sintering a silicon nitride which is approximate to the coefficient of thermal expansion of a tempered glass and also has the value of an extremely small coefficient of thermal expansion, in the shape of a thin rectangular parallelepiped by using a mold jig. Also, one end part of this arm 11 is attached to the prescribed position of a truck 4 by metallic fittings 12, and on its other end part, a metallic gimbals structure body 13 which holds the magnetic head consisting of a slider and a coil, and also moves up and down freely is installed. This sintered body of silicon nitride is higher than the glass as to its hardness, and it is scarcely damaged by a shock. Also, a magnetic disk uses a glass substrate whose hardness is high and also whose surface working accuracy is high, and forms a magnetic film consisting of gamma-Fe2O3 on its surface by a spattering method.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to mount many magnetic heads on a flat platelike magnetic head driving device of reduced weight by placing a flat platelike truck on a plane perpendicular to the plane of a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:A flat platelike truck 19 is provided vertically, and tapered slanted guide parts 25 are formed above and below the truck 19 and fixed to the base plate 3 of an accessing device, and moved forward and backward guided correctly by an outer rings of ball bearings 26 provided on both sides of above-mentioned slanted guide part 25. Plural magnetic head arms 6 are attached to a flange 27 for mounting magnetic head 5 placed in a body at the tip of the flat platelike truck 19 in multiple steps with screws. By such constitution, the weight of unified part of the truck and movable part is reduced, and the mechanical vibration due to reaction force can be reduced, and the multiple headed high speed magnetic disk device can be constituted.

    • PURPOSE:To attain the head positioning control in excellent way with simple constitution by matching a position gain setting value at position control mode to a speed profile value near an object position of a magnetic head so as to perform both speed and position control modes by a common use circuit. CONSTITUTION:An operating device 24 is feedback-controlled via a speed gain setting device 27 in response to an error between a value of a speed profile signal 101 outputted from a speed profile generating circuit 22 in response to an object position signal and a converting speed signal outputted from a speed signal converter 26 according to a head position signal from the operating device 24. The gain of this setting device 27 is set to a value equal to a slope of a linear region near the track position of the signal 101 and the speed control mode for head positioning and the succeeding position control mode are performed by using the same circuit in common. Thus, the positioning control of the head is performed with simple constitution without overshoot or undershoot in excellent way because the changeover of each mode is not required.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce a temperature difference in the upper and lower overlapping direction, by providing on a hub 1 or more each of two kinds of independent air holes passing through magnetic disks from the upper and lower sides around the center of the spindle, and mixing air being in the proximity of the upper and lower sides of the spindle, in the space of the disks.
      CONSTITUTION: This magnetic disk device is a center type by which both the upper and lower ends of a spindle are supported by bearings 11, 12. A magnetic disk 4 is installed to the spindle 10 through a hub 13, and is placed at equal intervals by a spacer 14. A space A of the lower part of the hub 13 leads to a gap of the magnetic disk 4 through an air hole 15, and air which has flowed in from the space A flows in the direction of the outside circumference of the disk 4. In the same way, an air hole 16 leads to a gap of each disk 4 from the upper space B of the hub 13, and air which has flowed in from the space B flows in the direction of the outside circumference of the disk 4 by rotation of the disk. In this way, 2 kinds of air holes 15, 16 are provided alternately on the outside circumferential part of the hub, and air flowing in from thw upper and lower parts of the disk 4 are mixed uniformly.
