    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low fogging and high sensitivity silver halide photographic emulsion and a photographic sensitive material. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic emulsion comprising a dispersion medium and silver halide grains, ≥70% of the total projected area of the silver halide grains is occupied by epitaxial tabular grains satisfying the following (i)-(v): (i) tabular silver iodochlorobromide grains having (111) faces as main planes, (ii) host tabular grains are hexagonal grains in which the ratio between lengths of sides constituting each main plane is ≤2, (iii) an epitaxial part extends from at least one vertex of each host tabular grain onto at least one (111) main plane and the projected area of a part where the epitaxial part is in contact with the (111) main plane occupies ≥50% of the total projected area of the epitaxial part, (iv) a silver chloride content is 1-10 mol% and a silver iodide content is ≥6 mol%, (v) a surface silver iodide content of the host tabular grains is ≥10 mol%.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a photosensitive material having high sensitivity and excellent in graininess and to further provide a photosensitive material excellent also in fixing performance, by using silver halide tabular grains having a high aspect ratio. SOLUTION: This silver halide color photographic sensitive material has one or more each of blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers on a support, wherein each of the red- and green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers consists of two or more higher and lower sensitivity layers, the higher sensitivity layer contains ≥50% (by number) of silver halide tabular grains satisfying the following conditions (1)-(4), and the lower sensitivity layer contains ≥50% (by number) of silver halide tabular grains satisfying the following conditions (5)-(7): (1) silver iodobromide or silver chloroiodobromide tabular grains having (111) faces as main planes; (2) an equivalent circle diameter of ≥1.0 μm and a grain thickness of ≤0.15 μm; (3) core portions of ≤0.1 μm thickness free of growth ring structure and composed of silver iodobromide are present; (4) ≥10 dislocation lines are present; (5) silver iodochlorobromide tabular grains having (111) faces as main planes; (6) an epitaxial bonding link is present on at least one vertex; (7) at least one dislocation line is present in the epitaxial bonding link.
