    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a photosensitive material having high sensitivity and excellent in graininess and to further provide a photosensitive material excellent also in fixing performance, by using silver halide tabular grains having a high aspect ratio. SOLUTION: This silver halide color photographic sensitive material has one or more each of blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers on a support, wherein each of the red- and green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers consists of two or more higher and lower sensitivity layers, the higher sensitivity layer contains ≥50% (by number) of silver halide tabular grains satisfying the following conditions (1)-(4), and the lower sensitivity layer contains ≥50% (by number) of silver halide tabular grains satisfying the following conditions (5)-(7): (1) silver iodobromide or silver chloroiodobromide tabular grains having (111) faces as main planes; (2) an equivalent circle diameter of ≥1.0 μm and a grain thickness of ≤0.15 μm; (3) core portions of ≤0.1 μm thickness free of growth ring structure and composed of silver iodobromide are present; (4) ≥10 dislocation lines are present; (5) silver iodochlorobromide tabular grains having (111) faces as main planes; (6) an epitaxial bonding link is present on at least one vertex; (7) at least one dislocation line is present in the epitaxial bonding link.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film with which light leakage brought about in the lapse of time is suppressed, a polarizing plate using the film, and a liquid crystal display device using the polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The cellulose acylate film contains a retardation developing agent constructed with a rod-shaped or discotic compound, and has hydroxy groups of a glucose unit constituting the cellulose substituted with ≥2C acyl groups. In the optical cellulose acylate film, when degrees of substitution of the respective hydroxy groups in the glucose unit at 2-, 3-, and 6-positions with acyl groups are sequentially represented by DS2, DS3, and DS6, inequalities (I) and (II) are satisfied, and a retardation value Re (590) with respect to 590 nm wavelength in the front face and a retardation value Rth (590) with respect thereto in the thickness direction satisfy inequalities (III) and (IV). The inequality (I) is: 2.00≤DS2+DS3+DS6≤3.00, the inequality (II) is: 0.20≤DS6/(DS2+DS3+DS6)≤0.36, the inequality (III) is: 20 nm≤Re (590) ≤200 nm, and the inequality (IV) is: 70 nm≤Rth (590) ≤400 nm.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic emulsion having high sensitivity and an interlayer effect control means by forming a specified silver halide emulsion containing flat silver halide grains having >=2 layer structure and at least one of them having a specified silver chloride content and silver halide protuberances. SOLUTION: This silver halide emulsion contains the >=70 number % flat silver halide grains having a particle diameter of 0.1-0.6μm in terms of a corresponding circle and a >=2 layer structure and at least one of the layers contains silver chloride in an amount of 0.4-20mol% of the total silver halide contained in this layer and the silver halide protuberances. The rest of the silver chloride contained in the above layer is optional in the contents of silver bromide and silver halide, but a preferable silver iodide is 0-35mol%. The protuberances of the silver halide is composed of silver chloroiodobromite containing 0-40, preferably, 0.1-40mol% silver iodide.
