    • PURPOSE:To improve yield and productivity by rolling a looped sheet material down to a prescribed sheet thickness while circulating said material in a rolling equipment train and setting and changing a roll gap, inlet side tension and outlet side tension at every pass. CONSTITUTION:The sheet material S is let off from a reel 7. The let off sheet material is cut when the front end thereof arrives at a shearing machine 9 by passing the shearing machine 9, a welding machine 11, bridle rolls 13, 3, 5, a looper 15, and a rolling mill 1. The cut part thereof constitutes the rear end part of the sheet material S. The front end part of the sheet material S and said rear end part are welded by the welding machine 11 to form the loop of the sheet material S. Rolling is started after formation of the loop and is continuously executed from one lass to prescribed passes. The rolling speed is lowered at every change of the passes and the setting of the roll gap, the inlet side tension nd outlet side tension is changed. The material S is sheared by the shearing machine 9 when the rolling progresses to the prescribed sheet thickness. The sheared material is taken up on a reel 7.

    • PURPOSE:To stably perform the tension control of a strip by controlling a reel motor by current after starting a rolling and changing over to the control of rotary speed based on the reference value by a specific equation at the time when a line speed exceeds a specific value. CONSTITUTION:In a reversible rolling mill 1 provided with the reels 2, 3 for winding and rewinding at the inlet and outlet sides gates g2, g3 are opened until reaching a certain line speed after rolling start with a plate passing and the current control of reel motors M2, M3 is performed by field current controllers 12, 14 and armature current controller 52, 53. The reference value V0 of the rotary speed of the reel is thereafter found by an equation V0=pi.N0 D0/MRH0 based on the reel motor rotary speed N0, the upper coil of the reel diameter D0 and the line speed reference value MRH0 of the time when the line speed exceeds the specific value. Based on this reference value V0, the line speed reference value MRH thereafter and the coil diameter D, a reel motor rotary speed reference value NR is fund by the equation Nr=V0.MRH/D. Based on this reference value Nr, the gates g2, g3 are closed to control the rotary speed of said motor M2, M3.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive to improve a descaling property of a strip edge part and to prevent a local wear of a rolling roll by reduction rolling an central part in a width direction of a steel strip with a specified rolling reduction harder than an edge part to reduce a crown. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolling steel strip 1 is subjected to rolling reduction by rolling reduction of 0.2-10% through a rolling mill 2, descaled from the surface of the steel strip 1 is a pickling vessel 3, then taken up as a descaled steel strip 4. In the stage of the rolling reduction, because the middle part in the width direction of the steel strip 1 is subjected to rolling reduction harder than the edge part to reduce the crown, a crown controller 5 is provided. On the inlet side of the rolling mill 2 or the outlet side or both the sides of the pickling vessel 3, a scale thickness meter 6 is provided to input a detected signal to the crown controller 5. The control device 5 controls the rolling mill 2 based on a set value and the detected value. As a result, the tensile stress is generated on the edge part, the cracks are generated on the relatively thick scale of the edge part, the descaling at the pickling on the succeeding stage is easily performed.
