摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for a heat developable photosensitive material by which occurrence of interference fringes is suppressed and unevenness in image density is prevented. SOLUTION: In the image forming method in which a heat developable photosensitive material containing a non-photosensitive silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a binder and a reducing agent is exposed with a laser. A silver iodide content of the photosensitive silver halide is 40-100 mol% and the laser is a semiconductor laser having emission peak intensity at a wavelength of 350-450 nm. The image forming method comprises at least a step(A) of conveying the heat developable photosensitive material and a step (B) of subjecting the heat developable photosensitive material to scanning exposure with the above laser in the main scanning direction while conveying the material, wherein the angle between a plane including a straight line which represents the main scanning direction and extending in the normal line direction of the heat developable photosensitive material, and a plane including a straight line which represents the main scanning direction and extending in the incidence direction of the laser is 0-15°. SOLUTION: The heat-developable photosensitive material contains a nonphotosensitive silver salt and photosensitive silver halide and a binder on a support, and the image forming layer containing this photosensitive silver halide uses a polymer latex amounting to >=50 weight% of the binder and having a glass transition point of -30 deg.C-40 deg.C, and this silver halide is spectrally sensitized in the wavelength region of 750-1400 nm, and this image forming layer and/or its adjacent layer contains at least one kind of compound represented by the formula in which R is an H or halogen atom or a 1-4 C alkyl, aryl, amino, nitro, optionally substituted carboxylic acid, or its salt, sulfonic acid on its salt.

The binder contains a polymer formed by copolymerization of monomers including 10 to 70% by mass of a monomer represented by the following formula (M): CH2 = CR - CR = CH2 wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, or a cyano group; R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, or a cyano group; and where R and R are never both simultaneously a hydrogen atom. The image-forming layer preferably contains an antifoggant of an organic polyhalogen compound.
