    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable photosensitive material having photographic characteristics of high contrast and low fog and good storage stability to be used for a photomechanical process, especially, a scanner and an image setter. SOLUTION: The heat-developable photosensitive material contains a nonphotosensitive silver salt and photosensitive silver halide and a binder on a support, and the image forming layer containing this photosensitive silver halide uses a polymer latex amounting to >=50 weight% of the binder and having a glass transition point of -30 deg.C-40 deg.C, and this silver halide is spectrally sensitized in the wavelength region of 750-1400 nm, and this image forming layer and/or its adjacent layer contains at least one kind of compound represented by the formula in which R is an H or halogen atom or a 1-4 C alkyl, aryl, amino, nitro, optionally substituted carboxylic acid, or its salt, sulfonic acid on its salt.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a sharp dye image by heating a thermodeveloping photosensitive material in the state of contg. no water after or simultaneously with imagewise exposing in the presence of a specific compd. and forming the image by the mobile hydrophilic dye released from a dye donative material.
      CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive material having photosensitive silver halide, a binder and a dye donative material which exhibits a reducing property to the photosensitive silver halide and releases a dye donative material by reacting with the photosensitive silver halide when heated on a base is heated in the state of contg. no water after or simultaneously with imagewise exposing in the presence of a compd. expressed by the formula to form an image by the mobile dye released from said material. The compd. expressed by the formula acts as a dye releasing assistant and accelerates the dye releasing reaction by oxidation reduction. The released mobile dye is transferred to, for example, a dye fixing layer, by which the dye image is obtd. Thus the dye donative material reacts with the silver halide at a high reaction rate without the aid of an auxiliary developer, by which the sharp image is obtd. and the stability with age is good.
