    • PURPOSE:To respectively maintain a throttle part at a low temperature further a spray pin part at a high temperature so as to suppress the adhesion of carbon, by providing a heat insulating part between the throttle part and the spray pin part which are provided in the end of a needle valve fitted to the jet of a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A needle valve 3 has in the end side of its tapered seated surface 4 a column-shaped throttle part 5 and a tapered spray pin part 6, and the throttle part 5 is fitted to a jet 2 in a nozzle body 1 through a fine clearance. Here the spray pin part 6 is successively connected in a line with a point end of the throttle part 5 through a tapered surface 7, further this successively connected part provides a peripheral groove 8 to be recessed over the whole periphery as a heat insulating part. And the existence of a space by the peripheral groove 8 suppresses transmission of heat from the spray pin part 6 to the throttle part 5. In this way, the needle valve 3 maintains the throttle part 5 at a low temperature suppressing the adhesion of carbon while the spray pin part 6 at a high temperature promptly destroying the adhering carbon by fire.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the generation of noise and white smoke at idle operation of an engine and promote its optimum combustion at high load operation of the engine, by controlling the opening area of a needle valve rod, which is lifted in accordance with a rise of fuel pressure in a fuel reservoir chamber, to be initially increased, secondly decreased and gradually increased. CONSTITUTION:If fuel is supplied to the oil reservoir chamber of a nozzle seat 7 increasing its internal pressure, a needle valve rod 9' is lifted but only about detached from a tapered surface 17 of the nozzle seat 7 due to a small amount of supply of the fuel for a short time of the pressurizing action. Then the fuel is injected from a nozzle opening 20 of an area S provided between a bottom end opening 14 of the seat 7 and a rod 19 of the rod 9'. This throttled flow Q, being larger by the increased area as shown by a curve in the drawing, enables a flow of the fuel to be ensured even if carbon adheres in the vicinity of the opening 20. If an engine load is increased, the rod 9' is further lifted, and the tapered portion of a metering flange 21 decreases the area to form an opening 20', holding the flow of the fuel to a fixed rate till the flange 21 passes through the opening part 14. Next, the opening 20' is changed to an opening 20'' by an increase of the load, causing the flow of the fuel to reach a maximum rate and enabling the most suitable combustion of an engine.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the complete blockage of a fuel injection nozzle in a Diesel engine and the like by providing several surface processing parts on the periphery of a small-diameter cylindrical part at top of a needle valve to be slanted to increase the width of opening gradually towards the top. CONSTITUTION:On a peripheral face 7a of a small-diameter cylindrical part 7 of a needle valve 6, four surface processing parts 9 are provided to be tangentially and circumferentially cut at fixed intervals and slanted at an angle theta to expand the width of opening toward the top, while in a circular gap 8 between a nozzle main body 2 and an injection nozzle 5, wide parts 8a and narrow parts 8b are formed. The opening width x of this wide part 8a is set between the maximum value within the limit of a fixed value of the combustion noise after the accumulated amount of carbon comes to a stationary value and the minimum value to prevent the complete blockage of carbon, and furthermore, the complete blockage can be surely prevented by the slanting angle theta. This construction permits to maintain an ideal injection ratio even when carbon is stuck and prevent the complete blockage by carbon without fail.

    • PURPOSE: To ensure pre-injection at any occasion by a method wherein an inner wall of a nozzle where a throttle section is inserted is formed with a tapered surface and it is so constructed that a gap width increases with lift-up of a valve body.
      CONSTITUTION: In a throttle type fuel injection valve, a valve body 2 is separated from a valve seat 1 via a seal section 3. When fuel is at high pressure, the valve body 2 lifts up, and a small amount of fuel as pre-injection is ejected from a ring- shaped gap 8 between a nozzle 6 and a throttle section 4 of the valve body 2. The inner wall of throttle 6 and the outer wall of throttle section 4 each form tapered surfaces 13 with the same tilt angle in respect to an axis line. Even in the event that a carbon layer 14 attaches on the inner and outer walls, fuel in a valve chamber 9 can eject even by a small amount from the increasing gap 8 with a slight lift, because the width of gap 8 increases with lift of valve body 2.
