    • PURPOSE: When cellulose acetate fiber is produced by the wet method, the yarn, after spun and rinsed, is dried under no tension in the fiber-length direction, whereby the titled fiber with high tranparency and mechanical properties is produced.
      CONSTITUTION: Cellulose acetate, preferably of more than 58% acetylation degree, is dissolved in, e.g., dimethylacetamide and treated in usual manners to form a spinning dope. The resultant dope is subjected to wet spinning using a dimethylacetamide aqueous solution as a coagulation both, preferably at a temperature lower than 30°C. The resultant yarn is washed, e.g., with boiling water, finishing oil is applied, the yarn is swung on the stainless steel net conveyor and dried in the hot air, preferably at 80W160°C under substantially no tension in the yarn-length direction.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a membrane having a good fractionating characteristic and excellent permeability by providing straight porous having a specific mean pore size to the surface of a porous membrane and setting the mean pore size and pressure loss at the time of the transmission of air so as to satisfy a specific formula. CONSTITUTION:At first, a composition containing a (meth)acrylic ester polymer and/or other component is dissolved in its good solvent to prepare a polymer solution which is, in turn, formed into membrane-like matter. Steam with absolute humidity of 1.0X10 -1.0X10 g/cm is brought into contact with the surface of this membrane like matter under such a condition that steam liner velocity is 12-50m/sec and a contact time of 0.1-10sec. Next, steam with absolute humidity of 1.0X10 -1.0-10 g/cm is brought into contact with the surface of the membrane like matter under such a condition that steam linear velocity is 0.1-9.0m/sec and a contact time is 10-600sec to perform two-stage steam contact treatment to obtain a membrane. This membrane has a mean fore size (d) of 1mum or less and the mean pore size (d) and pressure loss P generated when air is transmitted at linear velocity of 5.3cm/sec satisfy d X P
