摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a fiber for a battery separator of an alkaline storage battery which is excellent in alkali resistance and oxidation resistance at high temperature time and has a highdegree liquid preserving characteristic. CONSTITUTION:Fiber for a battery separator is composed of a composition containing sulfonated polysulfone by 15 to 40 weight % and polyvinyl chloride having a polymerization degree of 900 to 1800 by 20 to 85 weight%. An alkali and oxidation weight loss rate is set not more than 2 weight%, and a liquid preserving rate is set not less than 35 weight%, or a boiling water shrinkage percentage is set not more than 15%, and single fiber fineness is set not more than 3 denier.

摘要： PURPOSE:To maintain good light transmittability and to obtain excellent heat resistant stability and flexing properties by using the copolymer of perfluoro(2,2- dimethyl-1,3-dioxol) and at least one ethylenic unsatd. monomer a the essential component and providing >=10% tensile elongation at break. CONSTITUTION:The copolymer of perfluoro(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxol) and at least one ethylenic unsatd. monomer is used as the essential component and the tensile elongation at break by ASTM D638 is specified to >=10%. The copolymer of the monomer is the noncrystalline fluorine polymer which has the transparency necessary as the clad material and has a low refractive index. Since the above-mentioned copolymer has the cyclic structure of the perfluoro(2,2- dimethyl-1-,3-dioxol) within the polymer, the copolymer has the good heat resistant stability and exhibits a high glass transition point. The resin compsn. for the clad material which is well balanced in the characteristics, such as transparency, mechanical strength, workability, and heat resistant stability, is obtd. in this way.

The active silyl group has the excellent bonding property to glass surface which is the core material and contributes to an improvement in the boundary face between the sheath material and the core material.
