    • PURPOSE:To detect a poisonous substance from flowing in its early stage by fish condition monitoring by supplying sample water to water tanks equally, picking up and converting an image of an acquatic animal in the water tank into an electric signal, and performing image processing and monitoring the abnormal action of the acquatic animal. CONSTITUTION:The sample water is guided to feed water pipes 11 (11a-11c) and supplied to the water tanks 1 (1a-1c) while water flows are controlled by water flow control means 12 (12a-12c). The water flows are so controlled that the water lows when fishes 5 (5a-5c) become weak unless the water flows normally. Further, an image pickup device 20 and an image processor 30 are provided above the water tanks 1. Then the fishes 5 stay normally at the water feed sides and said and if a poisonous substance flows in, the fishes 5 act madly and temporarily and become weak, so that they are driven to water discharge sides. The image pickup device 20 picks up and converts the image of the fishes 5 into the electric signal and performs the image processing to detect the positions of the fishes 5, thereby deciding whether or not they are normal. When they are abnormal, a warning 50 is sent out. Thus, the flowing of the poisonous substance is monitored by the action of the fishes, so that is detected sensitively and securely to secure the safety of water quality.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device for controlling the injection of a flocculant capable of excellently forming flocs by controlling the amt. of the flocculant to be injected while judging the quality of actual flocculation. CONSTITUTION:The variable density picture signal of the floc photographed by a floc photographing means 18 is inputted to a picture recognizing means 30, binarized by a binarization means 70, and then inputted to a particle diameter distribution arithmetic means 80 to calculate the particle diameter distribution. The calculated result is stored in a volume concentration distribution memory 92. When the termination of recognition of a specified number of pictures is judged by a means 90 for judging the termination of recognition, the volume concentration distribution stored in the volume concentration distribution memory 92 is inputted to a flocculation judging circuit 94. The logarithmic mean diameter of flocs is obtained from the volume concentration distribution by the flocculation judging circuit 94, and added to an injection controller 100. The amt. of a flocculant to be injected is obtained by the injection controller 100 based on the logarithmic mean diameter, and an injection pump 12 is controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To improve reliability by detecting the standing of an observation window when the number of picture elements of an ITV camera indicating the binary-coded signal state of a flock equal in the number of times to the number of processing of an image photographed by the ITV camera does not vary from the last number of picture elements even after image processing is carried out >=2 times successively. CONSTITUTION:The ITV camera 30 is put in an airtight container 20 and installed in water of a main flock formation pond 10 and an image of a flock 12 in the pond 10 is enlarged and photographed through the observation window 21. Further, a wiper 22 is driven 23 periodically so as to remove dirt on the surface of the window 21. Then, flock image information inputted by the camera 30 is inputted to an image processor 50 through an ITV controller 32 and the particle size distribution, etc., of the flock is computed so as to control the water quantity of a pure water reservoir. In this case, the device 50 detects the staining of the observation window 21 unless the number of picture elements of the camera 30 which indicate the binary-coded signal state of the flock equal in the number of times of processing to the image photographed by the camera 30 varies from the last number of picture elements even after the image processing is carried out >=2 times successively.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the formation state of flocks automatically by inputting an image pickup image of a sedimentation basin from an image detecting means arranged under the water in the sedimentation basin and detecting a distribution of flocks, and then detecting the spread state of a flock distribution within an image pickup visual field by grain sizes. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 6 and a projector 15 fitted through in one body are dipped in the water in the sedimentation basin 4. Then, a computer 18 for control sends a light emission indication to a strobe controller 16 and the TV camera 6 picks up an underwater image simultaneously with light emission. Image data is obtained through a controller 7 after the image pickup operation and inputted to an image recognizing device 17. Then, image processing technique is applied to recognize and image of a flock group and decide on the formation condition. In this case, sedimentation distribution information in case of proper flocks is stored in a sedimentation flock distribution memory 19 previously and compared with the distribution information on flocks which is inputted currently to grasp the more accurate formation condition of the flock group in consideration of weight information (appearing in the sedimentation distribution of flocks).
