    • PURPOSE:To enable strongly the joining of both joining members by existing super plastic alloy on the part where two joining members to be subjected to solid phase bonding are opposing and by applying a big plastic deformation on the part opposing to the joining face of this super plastic alloy. CONSTITUTION:Two joining members 1A, 1B are inserted into the die 2 having taper part 2a on the way, opposing each other on the taper part 2a the joining face 3 to be joined and supporting the rear part by pistons 4, 5 respectively. The interface of the joined face 3 performs plastic deformation with enlarging the area when a load is applied in the direction to compress the joining member 1A, 1B by piston 4 and a new face is caused on the interface. The joining members 1A, 1B return to the original shape once again when it is unloaded by returning the piston 4 to the original position. Further new face is caused with shrinking the interface at this returning time. The crystal grain having high activity appears on the joining interface by repeating such operations and two joining members 1A, 1B are strongly joined.

    • PURPOSE:To improve joint strength by forming an extremely thin layer of an Al alloy contg. >=1 kinds selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, Pd, etc. deposited by evaporation on at least one of joining materials then melting the layer deposited by evaporation thereby executing liquid phase diffusion joining. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy plate 3 is formed of an Al alloy contg. at least >=1 kinds selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, Pd, In, La, Ce, Te and Cu. A high voltage is impressed to the plate 3 as cathode and a joining material 1 consisting of a heat resistant superalloy as anode to form an extremely thin layer 2 deposited by evaporation on the joint surface. The material 1 formed with the layer 2 is moved into a joining chamber B and another superalloy joining material 5 is brought into contact therewith and both materials are pressed by a jig 6. The materials are then subjected to a liquid phase diffusion treatment in an electric furnace in which a protective atmosphere of gaseous Ar or the like is maintained. The structure of the joint part having the good distribution condition of a gamma phase is obtd. and the joint strength is improved by the above-mentioned method.

    • PURPOSE:To form a different metallic surface having no oxide film on the surface and to join said surface to a base belt material with high strength by coating metal halide powder on the surface of an aluminum belt material by substn. reaction and press welding said material to the base belt material and rolling the same. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a metal halide is tuck to the surface of an aluminum belt material by any of a spraying method, injecting method, sprinkling method or electrostatic sticking. Said material is heated to the high temp. above the temp. at which the substn. reaction of the metal halide arises and below the m.p. to provide a coating layer of the different metal on the surface of the aluminum belt material. Any one among convection, radiation, conduction and electrical heating can be selected for the heating method. An inert atmosphere of argon, nitrogen, etc. or reducing atmosphere is used for the heating atmosphere. A base belt material which is so set as to face the surface of the different metal coating layer of the aluminum belt material is fed to press welding and rolling rolls. The aluminum belt material and the base belt material are joined to each other via the coating layer.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a clad metal having a covering metal of uniform thickness, by lowering the surface roughness of inner peripheral face of a covering tube metal to below specified value. CONSTITUTION:A covering tube metal larger in diameter than a base metal is fitted to the base metal. These are pressed and plastic deformed to flatten them and a clad metal having closely contacted outer peripheral face of the base metal and inner peripheral face of the covering tube is manufactured. Surface roughness of outer peripheral face of ordinary copper base metal and inner peripheral face of stainless steel tube is about 5-10mu. However, surface roughness of inner peripheral face of the covering tube metal is made specially less than 3mu to lower frictional force generated between the surface of the base metal and inner peripheral face of the covering tube metal. By this way, their fluidity is increased and the thickness of covering tube metal becomes uniform.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a clad bar material free from cracking of covering material and opening between covering metal and base metal, by determining sectional dimension of the base metal, inner diameter of the covering metal and formed thickness to make average percentage of elongation in the direction of flat of covering metal after forming within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A bar base metal 1 made of electric conductive metal or alloy having circular sectional form is inserted into a tubular covering metal 2 made of anti-corrosion metal or alloy, and placed between dies 4, 5 and pressed. Then, the base metal fills up inside of the covering material 2, but the covering material is little elongated at this point of time. When pressed further, R part 2b of the covering metal 2 is flattened. At the same time, flat parts 2a are elongated and thickness is reduced, and a desired clad bar metal having flat parts 2a' is obtained. In this case, sectional dimension of the base metal 1, inner diameter of the covering metal and formed thickness are determined to make average percentage of elongation more than 5% and less than allowable percentage of elongation of the material. Little elongation occurs in R part 2b, and initial thickness is retained.

    • PURPOSE: To stabilize the quality of joined surfaces by diffusion welding by hermetically mounting caps to both ends of an outside pipe, putting the joined part of the outside pipe and an inside pipe in a vacuum or inert atmosphere and heating these in an atmospheric furnace.
CONSTITUTION: Caps 6, 6' are mounted to both ends of an outside pipe 1 which is an object to be welded assembled with the outside pipe 1, an inside pipe 2, and a metallic round bar 3, thereby hermetically sealing the inside of the pipe 1. An exhaust pipe 7 is provided to the one cap 6' to evacuate the inside and to put only the joined surfaces of the pipe 1 and the pipe 2 in a vacuum or inert atmosphere. When this object to be welded is heated to the correct temp. for diffusion welding in a heating furnace 12 in the atmospheric air, the pipe 2 is pressed to the pipe 1 by the expansion of the bar 3 having a coefft. of thermal expansion larger than that of the pie 1 and the pipe 2, whereby a clad pipe or the like is manufactured.
