    • PURPOSE:To reduce unevenness of a film thickness with current density changed continuously and generation of turbulence eliminated in plating fluid by chamfering an end part between an internal part and a through hole with high density energy irradiated before a plating layer is formed in the internal part having the through hole. CONSTITUTION:An end part 4 in a cylinder 1 is chamfered by irradiating it with high density energy of laser or the like and formed into a shape having curvature R. Thereafter by performing a plating process, a plating layer 3 of shape, having the curvature R in the end part 4, is formed. Since a port internal surface is prevented from being much plated as compared with a case not chamfered, this layer 3 is also prevented from being followed by deteriora tion of suction-exhaust efficiency. Accordingly, unevenness of a plated film thickness can be reduced, while in the case of using the cylinder 1 in which Si is deposited by an Al-Si alloy in the base material, since an insulator of Si is changed into a fine state by partly melting a surface of the cylinder by laser irradiation with conductivity of an Al part deteriorated, current density in the vicinity of the end part 4 is uniformly obtained further with unevenness of the plating film thickness enabled to reduce.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the extent of reliability from the standpoint of strength by forming both front and rear parts of a rear wheel suspension connecting part of an arm body with a taper angular pipe forming a cylindrical blank pipe into a square shape by means of compression molding, in a rear arm consisting of connecting a symmetrical pair of arm bodies with a connecting member. CONSTITUTION:In a rear arm 16 which is pivotally supported on a rear end of a body frame of a motorcycle free of rocking motion up and down, an interval between intermediate parts of a symmetrical pair of arm bodies 18, 18 is connected by a connecting pipe 20, and an end piece 21 supporting an axle is fixed to each rear end of these arm bodies 18 by means of welding. This connecting pipe 20 is formed into a rectangular cylindrical section from extrusion molding material of an aluminum alloy, and one end of a rear wheel suspension is supported on a central underside in the car width direction of this connecting pipe 20. Each arm body 18 is constituted of both front and rear arms 18b, 18a or a taper angular pipe forming a round pipe or a molding each, extending in front and in the rear from a connecting part of the connecting pipe 20 into such a form as a cross section square shape and becoming smaller as far as the end side by means of compression molding.

    • PURPOSE:To get a spring retainer, which is light and mechanically strong, and has abrasion resistance, by forming the spring retainer out of a light metal which is mixed with reinforcing short fibers, and forming a plating on the surface of this spring retainer. CONSTITUTION:A spring retainer 1 is formed out of a light metal 7, in the shape of a ring with a flange 8, and also the inner circumferential rim of the central hole 6 of this retainer 1, is formed thicker than the flange 8. Then, the light metal 7 as a base metal is mixed with many reinforcing short fibers 10. After that, a plating 11 which is constituted of dispersing plating is formed over the whole surface of the spring retainer 1. In this way, the mechanical strength of the spring retainer 1 can be raised, as the longitudinal elastic modulus of the light metal 7 is increased by the reinforcing short fibers 10. Moreover, hardness of the surface of the spring retainer 1, with which the end surface of a valve spring contacts with pressure, can be raised by the plating 11. Accordingly, the spring retainer 1, which is light and mechanically strong, and has abrasion resistance, can be got.

    • PURPOSE:To enable strongly the joining of both joining members by existing super plastic alloy on the part where two joining members to be subjected to solid phase bonding are opposing and by applying a big plastic deformation on the part opposing to the joining face of this super plastic alloy. CONSTITUTION:Two joining members 1A, 1B are inserted into the die 2 having taper part 2a on the way, opposing each other on the taper part 2a the joining face 3 to be joined and supporting the rear part by pistons 4, 5 respectively. The interface of the joined face 3 performs plastic deformation with enlarging the area when a load is applied in the direction to compress the joining member 1A, 1B by piston 4 and a new face is caused on the interface. The joining members 1A, 1B return to the original shape once again when it is unloaded by returning the piston 4 to the original position. Further new face is caused with shrinking the interface at this returning time. The crystal grain having high activity appears on the joining interface by repeating such operations and two joining members 1A, 1B are strongly joined.
