    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a resin surface smoother during the manufacture of a power transmission shaft provided with a resin coating on the sliding section thereof.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for an intermediate shaft 5 comprising an inner shaft 35 provided with an outer spline 37, a cylindrical outer shaft 36 provided on its inner circumference with an inner spline 38, and a resin coating 139 provided on the outer spline 37, wherein during a heat acclimation process (Fig.4(h)), the central axis line of an inner shaft manufacturing intermediate 147 and the central axis line of an outer shaft manufacturing intermediate 46 are made to coincide, while the manufacturing intermediates 46, 147 are held in such a way that their cores are alignable. In this state, the manufacturing intermediates 46, 147 are made to slide against each other in the axial direction X1. Thus, the surface of the resin coating 139 is smoothed out. During the heat acclimation process, grease 48 is placed between the manufacturing intermediates 46, 147.
