摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head slider capable of reducing the change and fluctuation of floating height. CONSTITUTION: Positive pressure 6 is generated on the magnetic head slider utilizing negative pressure by the inflow of a viscous air flow 1 against a pressing load 4 due to a pivot, etc., and also the negative pressure 5 getting near a magnetic disk is generated by the inflow of air viscous flow to a curved groove. Then, the center generating the negative pressure 5 is positioned to the inflow side of air viscous flow than the position of pressing load 4 so that the space 12 between the magnetic head element and magnetic disk is kept to be constant by equalizing the approaching force getting near the magnetic disk 10 due to the pressing load 4 and negative pressure 5 and the floating force due to the positive pressure 6. Thus, by means of making the position of magnetic head element to a steady point, i.e., a rotational center of substantial balancing, the reduction of variance and fluctuations of the floating height is attained.

摘要： PURPOSE: To prevent slider floating characteristic of a suspension for magnetic head from deteriorating by preventing distortion of the magnetic head suspension due to thermal deformation to its center line. CONSTITUTION: In a spring part 1c of the suspension main body 1, a wiring pattern consisting of effective wiring 3 and dummy wiring 2 in approximately right and left symmetry to the center line of the suspension is formed and disposed. The wiring pattern is made to have a microstrip line structure. Consequently, the bimetal effect attending upon temp. change in a magnetic disk device concerned takes place in approximately right and left symmetry to the center line of the spring part because of different thermal expansion coeffts. of a conductive and resin materials forming the wiring pattern and a material of the suspension, thus preventing distortion of the gimbal part. Therefore, the slider is stably floated up, and hence a read/write characteristic is prevented from deteriorating. In addition, a good transmission characteristic is provided, and hence a high speed data transfer of the magnetic disk device is realized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion between a head slider and a disk and to improve anti-head-crash performance by providing a notch or a chamferring to part or several positions of outside of a rail face of a magnetic head slider. CONSTITUTION:An intermittent notch 12 or a chamferring 10 is provided to a part or several positions at the outside of a rail face 9 of a head slider 1 with mechanical processing. Thus, the notch 12 provided at the outer contour of the rail face 9 cuts off minisci 7, 11 to reduce the adhesive force sufficiently to a degree of releasing the adhesion of a lubricant. Moreover, the length, width, and position of the notch 12 are selected so as to decrease the area of the rail toward the flowing-out end 5 or the chamferring 10 is applied to decrease the floating start speed of the head slider 1 and to increase a pitch angle of the head slider in floating. Thus, adhesion between a head slider and a disk is prevented and to the anti-head-crash performance is improved.
