Then, the reliability as the device is improved. Also, the slider is easily exchangeable, and the performance test for a single component of a magnetic head can be omitted, then the reduction of the manufacturing cost is attained.     • PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head slider for a magnetic disc apparatus with which a cohesion when a disc is at rest and a friction when the disc is rubbed with a low speed are suppressed at low levels and stabilize a floating height when the head is made to float. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic transducer 7 is formed on the flow-out end 3 of a slider 1 and spherical protrusions 5a-5e are provided on the front part and the rear part of the flat surface 4 on the floating surface 2 side of the slider 1 bilateral-symmetrically. A pressure distribution in an air-flow direction (x) is such that a pressure rises sharply with a distance from the flow-out end 6 of the slider 1 to reach its peak near the crest planes 50c and 50d of the protrusions 5c and 5d and, after it falls sharply, reaches its peak again near the crest planes 50a and 50b of the protrusions 5a and 5b. A floating height is stabilized by this pressure distribution. When a disc is at rest or rubbed with a low speed, the slider 1 is supported above the disc surface by the small circular crest planes 50a-50e. Therefore, the cohesion and the friction can be suppressed.
