摘要： PURPOSE:To maintain the radio-activity in a reactor water at the level equal to the conventional value even in a light water reactor in which a fuel aggregate using a high corrosion resistant cladding pipe is loaded, by forming a black oxidation membrane on the zirconium inner surface and the zirconium alloy outer surface of a high corrosion resistant cladding pipe. CONSTITUTION:Of a fuel cladding pipe which consists of a Zircaloy 2 alloy at the outer layer Material, and a pure zirconium at the inner layer material, the outer surface is oxidation processed beforehand, and a black oxidation film is formed. 摘要： PURPOSE:To increase the pushing force against fuel rods by providing a plurality of tubular coupling parts for coupling the resilient parts into a loop spring thereby decreasing the pressure drop of a fuel spacer. CONSTITUTION:A loop spring 17 comprises a pair of spring parts 19 (resilient part) forming a pair of opposing side walls, and two coupling parts 20 for coupling the spring parts at the opposite ends thereof, wherein the spring part 19 is provided with a central protrusion 10A. The coupling part 20 is a tube having rectangular cross-section and extending in the axial direction of a round cell 6. Consequently, an opening 21 is formed in the coupling part 20. A coolant 12 ascending between fuel rods 2 flows into the round cell 6. The coolant 12 ascends along the inner face of the round cell 6 and passes through the opening 21 at the lower end part thence through an opening at the upper end part thus reaching a part above the loop spring 17. Since disturbance of the coolant flow 12 is suppressed at each coupling part 20, pressure drop of coolant channel in decreased in the limited round cell 6 thus decreasing the pressure drop of fuel spacer and the fuel assembly.

摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress nodular corrosion and improve corrosion resistance and hydrogen absorbing characteristic in a sheathed tube for nuclear fuel, a spacer, a channel box and a fuel assembly. CONSTITUTION:At least one of a sheathed tube for nuclear fuel, a spacer, a channel box and a fuel assembly for a nuclear reactor is formed of a zirconium base alloy containing tin 1-2%, iron 0.20-0.35% and nickel 0.03-0.16% in weight and the rest substantially formed of zirconium, at an iron/nickel ratio 1.4-10. At the time of manufacturing the fuel assembly for the nuclear reactor, prior to the first cold plastic processing after the final hot plastic processing, the zirconium base alloy is subjected to the treatment of quenching after short-time heating-holding in a temperature area including beta-phase or beta-phase and beta-phase. Cold plastic processing and annealing treatment are then repeated alternately, and after forming the thin material of the zirconium base alloy, fabrication is applied to manufacture the fuel assembly for the nuclear reactor.

The unfull-length fuel rods are arranged only below the positions void of the round cells of the spacer 4B. In other embodiments, the round cells are removed with a spacer 4D and a spacer 4E which have the round cells 1 existing at all positions corresponding to the fuel rods 7 between the bathtubs 3 facing each other so that the positions void of the round cells shift and these spacers 4D and 4E are arranged alternately in the axial direction of the fuel rods.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide high burn-up adaptivity by arranging random the crystal axis of a channel box, using high Fe-Ni type zirconium-based alloy with high anti-corrosiveness to this and covering tube/spacer constituent material, and subjecting it to quenching in alpha+beta or beta phase. CONSTITUTION:A covering tube is so constructed that its solid solution amount of Sn, Fe, Ni at the outer surface is higher than that at the inner surface, and a channel box 4 is constructed so that its orientation factor (Fr value) of (0001) crystal axis in the direction across the plate thickness ranges 0.25-0.50. The covering tube, spacer 7, and box 4 are formed from 1-2wt.% Sn, 0.20-0.35wt.% Fe, 0.03-0.16wt.% Ni, and the remainder which consists substantially of zirconium. Heating of the box 4 into the beta-phase region is made for a certain desired time continuously while the plate is moved. This causes the (0001) axis to be random and provides high anti-corrosiveness to high temp, high pressure pure water. Thereby the high burn-up adaptivity is made practicable.

摘要： PURPOSE:To exactly evaluate the sensitivity to white corrosion in the high-temp. high-pressure water and steam in nuclear reactor environment by immersing a weld heat affected pseudo material formed by quick cooling a Zr alloy from a prescribed temp. region into the high-temp. high-pressure water. CONSTITUTION:The porous white corrosion arises on the surface of a welded joint material of a Zr-2.5Nb alloy for nuclear service when said material is immersed into the high-temp. high-pressure water enriched with oxygen by air bubbling. The inventor discovered that the above-mentioned corrosion is significant particularly in the weld metal part and the heat affected zone thereof. The weld heat affected pseudo material formed by quickly cooling the weld zone of a fuel structural material made of the Zr-Nb alloy or the base metal thereof at >=10 deg.C/sec rate from the alpha+beta and beta temp. is immersed into the high-temp. high-pressure water enriched with oxygen by the above-mentioned method in accordance with the above-mentioned result. The presence or absence of the white corrosion generated by such immersion is investigated, by which the corrosion resistance of the specimen Zr-Nb alloy is exactly judged and evaluated.
