The lock up mechanism 27 is provided with a piston 28 moving based on hydraulic pressure fluctuation of ATF flowing between the turbine runner 23 and the converter housing 17, a plurality of driven plates 32 supported by the converter housing 17, and a plurality of drive plates 35 supported by the piston 28. Also, a through hole 33 establishing communication between an engine arrangement side of the piston and a transmission arrangement side of the piston 28 is formed in the piston 28.
