摘要： A system and method uses light signals to detect and display the position of an airborne vehicle, such as a helicopter, during takeoff or landing or low speed, low altitude operation. A transmitter on the vehicle emits light signals while an optical receiver retrieves reflected light signals. Using light detection and ranging techniques, various parameters, such as altitude, ground speed and relative wind, are calculated based on the Doppler shift within the reflected light signals. The signals are transmitted in three different directions to facilitate the measurements of different Doppler shifts. The parameters are also displayed on a screen or other visual device within the vehicle.

摘要： A method of acquiring data uses multiple sensors in an aircraft. The method includes the steps of: (a) turning ON a DIAL sensor to detect a target of interest during a first flight pass over a region of interest (ROI), wherein the target of interest is a gas or oil pipeline leak; (b) detecting the target of interest using the DIAL sensor; and (c) storing location of the detected target in a look up table (LUT). The method also includes the steps of: (d) during a second flight pass over the ROI, triggering another sensor to turn ON at or about the location stored in the LUT; and (e) confirming presence of the target of interest using both ON-sensors. If necessary, a third flight pass over the ROI is conducted and yet another sensor is triggered to turn ON at or about the location stored in the LUT. Presence of the target of interest is confirmed using all three ON-sensors.

摘要： A dispenser (10) utilizes a controller (26) in conjunction with a photodetector (22) in order to provide automatic dispensing to a user when an object enters a target area. The controller (26) is programmed to pulse a light source (24) that is mounted proximate the photodetector (22). The controller (26) constantly monitors the voltage at the receiving signal of the photodetector (22), and evaluates the difference in voltage from the light pulsed on and off. The controller (26) sums the differences, and constantly updates the differences over a designated period to create an average difference value. The average difference value is summed with a target offset value and compared to a momentary voltage difference. When the momentary difference exceeds the sum of the target offset value and average difference, the controller (26) sends a signal via an actuating mechanism (20) to a dispense mechanism (18) which dispenses a fluid or other product on the object.

摘要： A scanning system scans a surface of a three-dimensional object from a first position and a second position. Using common alignment at these positions, a first scanning sample and a second scanning sample are generated. The first and second scanning samples include point clouds having data points representing positions of the scanned surfaces. The first scanning sample and the second scanning sample are oriented relative to each other based on the common alignment of the scan positions.
