摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and easily discriminate medium type counting the number of changes of a signal level of a tracking error signal and discriminating the medium type of a disk-like recording medium based on the count result. SOLUTION: The sine wave-shaped tracking error signal S2B is outputted from an optical block 8 by that a spot of laser light L1 traverses successively a groove-like track on a magneto-optical disk 6. A pulse like binarization tracking error signal S20 is generated by that the signal S2B is binarized in a binarization circuit 21 to be supplied to a traverse counter 20 in a DSP 3. The present speed of the block 8 is calculated from the variable amount of the count value of the counter 20 o be outputted as a present speed signal S23. The DSP 3 drives the slier 13 of the block 8 through a slier drive circuit 12 so that a difference between the present speed of the block 8 obtained base on the signal S23 and a target speed becomes zero, to move the block 8 to a target position.

SOLUTION: When a magnetooptical disk 1 is rotated by a spindle motor 2 and an optical head 6 is moved in the radial direction of the magnetooptical disk 1 by a slide motor 5, a sine wave signal corresponding to the level of the position is outputted to a digital signal processing circuit 14 from a MR sensor 4. A modulator/demodulator circuit 9 modulates data from a host computer 13 in recording and demodulates a reproducing RF signal from the optical head 6 in the reproduction. An encoder/decoder 10 encodes data from the host computer 10 in recording and the reproducing signal from the modulator/ demodulator circuit 9 in the reproduction. A controller 12 is connected to the host computer 13 through a SCSI interface circuit and controls the digital signal processing circuit 14.

A power supply voltage is supplied to one of the contact points through one of the detecting contact points. By the state being connected or not connected with the contact point supplied with the power supply voltage, the other contacts should display '0' or '1', therefore, the displays are utilized as the signals of plural bits, and a specified information is read through the detecting contact points. Meanwhile, when two contact points are connected through a resistor, the detections of the states in three ways including the connection and nonconnection between the contact points are performed for each contact point.

CONSTITUTION:The head 21 is fixed to the top end of a head base 26 and the base part side is fastened and fixed to a middle rotary drum 20 by a stop screw 25. The top end side of the upper surface of the head base 26 is pressed by the tip 27d of a press screw 27 engaging with a female-screw hole 20d formed on the drum 20. Thus, the hight of the head of the rotary drum is feely adjusted (pairing adjustment). A nonmale-screw part 27b and a slot 27e are formed at head part side of the outer peripheral surface of the press screw 27, and a spot facing hole 20e havin bigger diameter than the head part of the press screw is provided on the upper part of a female- screw hole 20d of the drum 20. The strength of the adjusting screw against a screwdriver is increased by the slot and the tip of the screwdriver turns along the spot facing hole then the tip is prevented from slipping or deviation from the slot, thus the adjustment screw is securely adjusted.
