At this time, when voltage Vth is impressed on a scanning electrode 301 in the second line through switching elements 601 and FET 31, voltage having reversed polarity is impressed on the EL element in the first line and the second line. Then, vibrations of respective EL elements interfere with each other, and a noise is prevented. Since only a single open drain type switching element is connected to scanning electrodes 201, 201,..., downsizing becomes possible.

    • PURPOSE:To edit a recorded or chestral accompaniment recorded tape with text easily by use of a cassette tape on the market by recording text phrase on a track parallel to a track where accompaniment is recorded. CONSTITUTION:The timing of the recording of stored text on the tape 10 is determined by running the tape 10 for the reproduction of recorded orchestral accompaniment play, and pressing a ''timing'' key where a text phrase is displayed. Time intervals T0, T1, T0-(T0: interval from reference signal 102a) of the depression of the ''timing'' key are measured by CTC4. Then the tape 10 is run again and time data T0 is read out when the reference signal 102a appears to set (T0-deltaT) in the CTC4 as a count initial value. In this case, deltaT is a timing correction term for recording the text phrase corresponding to each measure of recorded accompaniment before the start of the measure. Then, text phrases 102b are recorded on the track 102 successively.

    • PURPOSE:To form an EL display out of an EL element multilayered structure so as to fully exhibit its function as a speed meter, etc. CONSTITUTION:A rearmost thin EL element 12 is so formed that, at least, an electrode on the light extracting side is composed of a transparent electrode. The forefront thin-film EL element 14, of which pair of both electrodes are composed of transparent electrodes, emits the same luminescent color and approximately the same luminance as the rearmost thin-film EL element 12. A breakage detection circuit 3 electrically detects breakage of respective thin- film EL elements 12, 14 and outputs a breakage detection signal to an element switching circuit 4. At first, the element switching circuit 4 electrically makes continuity between the rearmost thin-film EL element 12 and a drive circuit 2, and shuts off continuity between the forefront thin-film EL element 14 and the drive circuit 2. After that, when the circuit 4 receives a breakage detection signal from the breakage detection circuit 3, it electrically shuts off a section between the broken rearmost thin-film EL element 12 and the drive circuit 2 and electrically makes continuity between the forefront thin-film EL element 14 and the drive circuit 2.

    • PURPOSE:To fairly prevent noise without extending a device in an EL display device which displays various picture data by controlling the light emission of each picture element constituted at each intersections of multiple scanning electrodes and multiple data electrodes which are orthogonally intersected with the scanning electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Pulse voltage -VH is applied to the scanning electrode Y1 of a first row, in the same way, pulse voltage VH to the scanning electrode Y2 of a second row, and pulse voltage VM to the data electrode X1 of a first column respectively, at the time of t0-t1. Voltage VH+VM being larger than a threshold value Vt is applied to the picture element Z11 of the first row and the first column, and a EL light emitting layer emits the light. Since voltage having inverted phases each other are applied, vibration of the EL light emitting layer owing to that voltage interferes each other. Therefore, the vibration of whole EL display device is reduced, and noise can be fairly prevented.

The lower end of the circumferential wall of the recess portion 22 is connected to the upper surface of the upper flange 2a of a bobbin 2 through an O ring 18 constituting a sealing member, so the recess portion 22 forms a sealed space defined by a cover assembly 3 and the upper flange 2a. A plurality of ventilating holes 12 are formed in a yoke 9. An exciting coil 7 is designed to be cooled by outside air passing through the holes 12.
