    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power device provided with a water-cooled type internal combustion engine and a stirling internal combustion engine, in which engine speed of the stirling engine is controlled when heat energy of exhaust gas is extremely small, so that heat energy recovering quantity from exhaust gas is improved to further promote warm-up performance of the internal combustion engine.
      SOLUTION: This power device is provided with the water-cooled type internal combustion engine, the stirling engine, and a control device. The stirling engine is provided with a heater to heat actuation gas by exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine, and a cooler to cool actuation gas by cooling water for the internal combustion engine. The control device increases engine speed of the stirling engine by reducing a load Ls when the internal combustion engine is in a warm-up state, with the load Ls on the stirling engine exceeding the minimum load (S4-S7). It increases the engine speed Ns by rotation-driving the sterling engine by a motor when the internal combustion engine is in the warm-up state, with the load Ls at the minimum load (S9-S13).

The continuously variable transmission mechanism 3 comprises an input rotating plate 10 and an output rotating plate 12 whose operating surfaces 17, 18 are formed of recessed annular curved surfaces abutting on spherical surfaces with the same center, and a transmission roller assembly having rollers 20, 21 simultaneously contacting the operating surfaces of the input rotating plate 10 and output rotating plate 12, and swinging around the center of the recessed annular curved surfaces as a fulcrum. The input rotating plate 10 is rotated integrally with the hand rim, and the output rotating plate 12 is rotated integrally with the wheel 1 to optionally change the swing angle of the transmission roller assembly, thus attaining continuously variable speed change.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual wheelchair capable of performing stable straight travelling even in the case of travelling on a road surface inclined to the left or right.
      SOLUTION: The inner ends of the axles 13 of left and right rear wheels 9 in the manual wheelchair 1 are connected with a clutch mechanism 30 to be changed-over between a position (on) wherein the axles of the left and right rear wheels 9 are rotated with synchronization, and a position (off) wherein both the wheels are independently rotated. The clutch is turned "on" when a torque to be transmitted between the axles of the left and right rear wheels 9 is not more than a prescribed value, and turned "off" when the torque exceeds the prescribed value. A case where the torque to be transmitted between the left and right axles is not more than the prescribed value means the case where the wheelchair is travelled on the road surface inclined leftward or rightward. In this case, the clutch is turned "on", so that the axles of the left and right wheels are rotated with synchronization. Thus, the wheelchair does not unexpectedly turn downward along the inclination.
