    • PURPOSE:To provide a self-diagnosing device for a fuel vaporized gas diffusion preventing device which more reliably decides feed ability by taking unevenness in fuel gas density into consideration when feed abnormality owing to which fuel vaporized gas is not introduced to an intake air passage is detected. CONSTITUTION:A flow rate of gas fed from a fuel tank 7 to a canister 37 is detected by means of a diaphragm, a permanent magnet, a magnetic flux detector 20, and a control circuit 44, and gas density is detected by means of an oxygen concentration sensor 46 and a control circuit 44. Through control of a purge valve 40 by means of a control circuit 44, from a gas flow rate and a fuel vaporized gas density, the weight of fuel vaporized gas fed from the fuel tank 7 to the canister 37 is determined in a state to close a discharge passage 39. When the determined value exceeds a set value, through control of the purge valve 40, the discharge passage 39 is brought into an opening or a closed state. From a change in an air-fuel ratio detected by an o, sensor 6, it is decided whether abnormality occurs. When abnormality occurs, an alarm lamp 45 is lighted ON to announce an alarm.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the starting characteristic by measuring the requisite time from the post-start judging to stall judging, altering the initial value of the post-start increment value in the internal combustion engine concerned according to this requisite time measured, and thereby smoothening transfer from initial combustion to complete combustion. CONSTITUTION:When an at-starting sensing means 11 of a CPU 5 senses that an engine 1 is in the starting process, a misstarting sensing means 12 senses that the engine 1 has failed starting, for ex. from the fact that stall is brought about after the engine 1 revolving speed NE has sunk below the set value. A timer 13 measures the time required for the engine 1 revolving speed NE to sink from below the set value to the lower limitation. An initial value altering means for post-start increment value 14 alters the initial value of the post-start increment value in compliance with the requisite time measured. A means 15 controls the valve opening time of a fuel injection valve 4 through increase/decrease of the initial value by an increasing means 15a and a decreasing means 15b on the basis of the altered initial value. This accomplishes smooth transfer from initial combustion to complete combustion, and the engine starting characteristic is enhanced.

On the other hand, when an establishment of learning condition such that an operating state parameter such as the intake pipe pressure by an intake pipe pressure sensor 17 or the engine rotating speed by a crank angle sensor 24 is in a prescribed learning area showing a stable operating state at steady running, or the engine cooling water temperature is a prescribed temperature or more is judged, whether the air-fuel ratio fluctuation (rich/lean peak) repeatedly processed every ignition timing was detected or not is judged, and when the peak was detected, the integration of air-fuel ratio deviation or the learning processing is not performed.

CONSTITUTION: An A/F sensor 26 which detects an air-fuel ratio linearly is arranged and installed at an exhaust pipe 12 at an internal-combustion engine 1. A CPU 42 inside an ECU 41 sets an air-fuel ratio correction factor according to the deviation between the air-fuel ratio detected by the A/F sensor 26 and a target air-fuel ratio so as to execute an air-fuel ratio feedback control operation by using the correction factor. In addition, the CPU 42 diagnoses the abnormality of the A/F sensor 26 by one out of a cycle judgment, a phase shift judgment and an amplitude shift judgment regarding the air-fuel ratio detected by the A/F sensor 26 and regarding the air-fuel ratio correction factor. In addition, the CPU 42 diagnoses the abnormality of the A/F sensor 26 according to whether the change amount of the air-fuel ratio or the change amount of the air-fuel ratio correction factor exceeds a tolerance or not.

    • PURPOSE: To secure an extent of high exhaust emission control capacity by means of a three way catalyst, in this fuel injection controller to be equipped with a fuel injection stopping function. CONSTITUTION: A three way catalyst 13 removing toxic substances in exhaust gas is installed in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine 1, while an air-fuel sensor 26 detecting an air-fuel ratio of mixture into this engine 1 linearly is also installed there. A central processing unit(CPU) 32 in an electronic control unit(ECU) 31 controls a fuel injection quantity for its feedback by means of a fuel injection valve 7 so as to make the air-fuel ratio by the air-fuel sensor 26 come to a desired air-fuel ratio, and simultaneously the fuel injection is stopped under the specified condition based on an engine driving state (fuel-cut). In addition, the central processing unit 32 calculates an oxygen quantity to be adsorbed to the three way catalyst 13 in time of this fuel-cut, while in time of richness in the air-fuel ratio, the oxygen quantity separating from the three way catalyst 13 is calculated. Moreover, the CPU 32 in time of transition from the fuel-cut to the feedback control, on the basis of the value made up of subtracting the separate oxygen quantity from the adsorbed oxygen quantity the desired air-fuel ratio is temporarily set to the rich side.
