    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a limitation to the installation positions of converging and branching parts. SOLUTION: First and second shield tunnels 10 and 12 are constructed as a tunnel by annularly assembling segments 14 and 16. When a converging part is formed, the tunnels 10 and 12 are disposed parallel with each other and apart a specified distance from each other. A connection part 22 allowing the tunnels 10 and 12 to communicate with each other is formed between the tunnels 10 and 12 after parts of the opposed segments 14 and 16 are removed to form opening parts 18 and 20 and the outside natural grounds of the opening parts 18 and 20 are excavated. The connection part 22 is extended in the axial direction of the tunnel and comprises an upper plate 24 and a bottom plate 26. The upper and bottom plates 24 and 26 are locked at their both ends to the end edges of the opening ends 18 and 20 of the segments 14 and 16 apart a specified distance in the vertical direction.       SOLUTION: This fireproof segment piece 10, which is formed in such a bent plate shape that a cylindrical ring body is split into a plurality of pieces along a peripheral direction, comprises an arc-shaped outer surface 100, an arc-shaped inner surface 101, and a pair of side surfaces 102 and 103 which are provided between the outer surface 100 and the inner surface 101. In the piece 10, a large number of heat fusible fibers 14, one-side ends of which are exposed on the inner surface 101 of the segment piece 10, are embedded on the side of the inner surface 101 of the segment piece 10. When the fireproof segment piece 10 is heated at a high temperature due to a fire etc., the fibers 14 are melted because they are embedded on the side of the inner surface of the segment piece 10, and a void or a soft molten part along a shape of the fiber is formed and serves as a water vapor exhaust part. On the occurrence of a rapid rise in temperature, the explosive fracture caused by water vapor pressure can be surely avoided.
