    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the terminator applicable to an existing transmission system and to maintain an excellent transmission characteristic with high accuracy at a low cost with respect to the terminator that terminates a transmission line used for transmission of a main signal and an AC signal superimposed on the main signal and formed via a plug and the transmission system provided with the transmission line and the terminator. SOLUTION: The terminator terminating a transmission line 12 that is formed as lines connected via a plug 11 and is used for transmission of a main signal modulated by transmission information and an AC signal superimposed on the main signal to provide power at the outside of the occupied band of the main signal, is provided with a bypass circuit 14 that applies a voltage in excess of a maximum rating of a nonlinear element 13 formed to a plug section of the plug 11 in response to the AC signal to the nonlinear element 13 or injects a current in excess of a maximum current rating and has an impedance with an allowable deviation of impedance matching with the transmission line 12 with respect to the main signal.

A pseudo random signal supplied to a terminal 43 among pseudo random signals of two channels supplied to input terminals 42 and 43 is subject to n-bit delay at a delay circuit 2 and made in phase to the pseudo random signal supplied to the terminal 42. The two pseudo random signals are fed to an EX-OR circuit 44, its output is fed to a time counting circuit 45 so as to discriminate the presence of fault.

On the other hand, an amplitude equalization pilot signal from pilot signal oscillators 6, 8, 10 is frequency- modulated shallowly at frequency modulators 7, 9, 11 by using an ordering signal inputted to terminals 52, 53, 54, a supervising control signal and a switching control signal. Then the signal is synthesized with the main signals SIG-1 and SIG-2. A microwave single side band signal inputted to a terminal 55 of the receiver is amplified/frequency-converted at a reception section 20 and then fed to an amplitude equalizer 21.

    • PURPOSE:To enable an end office to detect the faulty area of a communication circuit, by storing the received data at each switching office, sending the stored data to the end office with a command given from the end office and comparing the stored data with the data received with a normal route at the end office. CONSTITUTION:An input signal RI is received 12 at a switching office and then demodulated to extract the data and clock signal. This clock signal is modulated by a transmitter 13 and then transmitted as a transmission output signal RO. A storing circuit 14 stores the demodulated data, and a control signal receiving circuit 16 receives the control signal sent from an end office in the opposite direction to apply the control signal to the circuit 14 and a reading/transmitting circuit 15. The end office feeds the data and the clock signal supplied from a receiver 19 to a code error detecting circuit 20, actuates a controlling/transmitting circuit 21 after detecting an error and transmits a control signal to each end office via a transmitter 22. The switching office transmits the stored data to the end office when receiving a control signal containing the number of its own station. While the end office stores 23 the transmitted data for each switching office and compares 25 this data with the data stored 24 previously to discriminate the faulty area.

    • PURPOSE:To independently determine the detection limit for breaking of signal through causing the limit of the detection mark rate to approach 0 and 1, by comparing the output of the integrating circuit, which has a time constant longer than that of the integrating circuit connected to retriggerable multivibrator, with the reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:When input signal 1 of pulse period t1 shorter than time constant CXRX of integrating circuit 14 is given to retriggerable multivibrator 11, Q' output signal 2 continues to be 0 and does not generate the alarm signal. When input signal 1 of pulse period t2 near time constant CXRX is given, output 2 repeates the operation of 0, 1 and averages them to generate the output signal, and pulse perior t2 becomes longer; and when it exceeds the threshold, alarm is generated. If instantaneous breaking sufficently longer than time constant R1C1 of integrating circuit 17 is generated in input signal 1, the alarm signal is generated when output signal 3 of integrating circuit 17 increases and exceeds the threshold voltage. If instantaneous break shorter than time constant R1C1 in the input signal, output signal 3 which does not reach the threshold voltage is reduced, and so alarm is not generated.
