    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine stop/start control device capable of extending a period of an operable time for automatically stopping an engine.SOLUTION: An engine stop/start control device exercises deceleration idling stop control where an engine is stopped before a vehicle stops, and vehicle-stoppage idling stop control where the engine is stopped after the vehicle stops. When the number of driving times of a starter is equal to or larger than a first threshold NS1, the engine is prohibited from being stopped by the deceleration idling stop control (S410: YES→S440), and damage to the starter at restarting the engine is decreased. When the number of driving times of the starter is equal to or larger than a second threshold NS2 which is larger than the first threshold NS1, the engine is prohibited from being stopped also by the vehicle-stoppage idling stop control (S430: YES→S450). By this, a lifetime of the starter can be extended, and the second threshold NS2 can be configured to be a larger value so that the period of an operable time for automatically stopping the engine can be extended.
