    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of a capillary electrophoresis/mass analyser (CE/MS) and to reduce the danger of the electric shock of an operator by using a spray auxiliary soln. feed means dispensing with a liquid feed pump. SOLUTION: The sample electrophoretically separated in a capillary to reach the end on the cathode side of the capillary 1 is mixed with a spray auxiliary soln. 4 and the resulting mixture is sprayed by the high speed gas stream allowed to flow to the gap between a metal pipe 3 and an orifice 18. The gaseous ions obtained by this spraying are introduced into a vacuum from an ion introducing fine orifice 10a to be subjected to mass analysis by a mass analyzing part. The soln. 4 is introduced into a metal pipe 3 from a spray auxiliary soln. tank 19 through piping 6 and a connector 20. Since the pressure at the end part of the metal pipe 3 becomes lower than the pressure (atmospheric pressure) of the part where the soln. tank 19 is arranged by the gas stream, the soln. 4 is sent by pressure difference. As a result, a liquid feed pump for feeding the soln. 4 becomes unnecessary and the ion source structure of CE/MS can be simplified.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that detection sensitivity and throughput cannot be achieved at the same time in a conventional MS and MS method.
      SOLUTION: The mass spectrometer has: an ion trap for discharging ions of a specific mass dimension; a collision and dissociation part for dissociating ions discharged from the ion trap; a mass spectrometry part for carrying out mass spectrometry of ions discharged from the collision and dissociation part; and a control part having a list in which measuring conditions of each ion is stored, and resonates and discharges the ions introduced and accumulated into the ion trap selectively by mass. The scan operation is composed of a repetition of an operation to discharge specific precursor ions in the collision and dissociation part direction and an operation not to discharge, and controls the output voltage of each part by referring to the information of the list. Accordingly, each ion can be measured by an optimum condition; and a mass spectrometry capable of MS and MS measurement having a high sensitivity and a high throughput is achieved.
