    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a method and a device for controlling or extinguishing a fire in an uninhabited space with a double-structured roof and walls where there is little possibility of entry of a person.
      SOLUTION: The exhaust gas of a fire pump engine 4 with a water tub is used as the fire controlling gas, and the uninhabited space 2, a target region for controlling the fire, is filled with the exhaust gas. The fire is controlled by reducing the oxygen concentration in the uninhabited space 2 to the value or lower at which a flammable object is hard to burn. The fire can be inexpensively controlled by the method and device utilizing the exhaust gas of the fire engine in this way.
