    • PURPOSE: To prevent stray current corrosion breakage in a heater by specifying an ink channel height and an overlap of vertical projection images and by an electrical insulation coating treatment which thermally oxidizes the surface of a thin-film resistor at high temperature. CONSTITUTION: An ink discharge nozzle 12 is of a straight cylinder, a structure that makes images vertically projected to a heating resistor 3 at the bottom overlap within 5μm, the height of a bulkhead 8 is 30μm or less. Thus vacuum bubbles are prevented from disappearing. A SiO2 insulation layer 17 is provided on a silicon substrate 1, and a Ta-Si-SiO alloy thin film resistor 3 excelling in pulse-resistance and oxidation resistance and a discrete Ni metal thin film conductor 4, and a common Ni metal thin film conductor 5 are formed thereon. The surface of the thin film resistor 3 is given electrical insulation coating by high temperature thermal oxidation. In this case, to prevent the metal thin film conductor 4 like Ni from being oxidized, a thermal oxidation treatment is made by heating only the resistor up to about 550 to 600 deg.C by pulse energization of the alloy thin film resistor 3.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a printer, through cooperation of an assembly comprising a variable volume chamber and a valve and an assembly for constituting an ink and solvent reservoir of a constricted part and a variable volume chamber which drives with an eccentric wheel having a pressure sensor being coupled through a valve. CONSTITUTION: Variable volume chambers 1, 23 detect the volume periodically through an eccentric wheel 3 coupled with a motor 4 rotating at a constant speed. The rotation cycle includes a stop interval required for static pressure measurement through a pressure sensor 5 at every revolution. When a jet 21 is delivered by opening a valve 19, although the volume of ink 34 under pressure of air 180 in the reservoir 18 decreases with time to cause pressure drop, since the pressure is sustained and thereby the volume of ink is sustained, the variable volume chamber 1 and valves 7, 9 function as pump to sample ink 33 in a reservoir 17 and provides it to the reservoir 18. During this interval, pressure is measured by means of the pressure sensor 5, and when the reservoir 17 is empty and the pressure is deficient, the valves 7, 9 and 13 are used sequentially.
