    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a jam and the length of paper and cope with high speed feed without the cost increase of members in paper delivery mechanism for detecting a delivery failure and the size of paper and controlling the delivery interval of paper using a paper feeding sensor. SOLUTION: Paper delivery mechanism is provided with a paper stacking part 2, a delivery means 3 for delivering paper 1 from the paper stacking part 2, and a detecting means 7 for detecting the presence of paper 1 in the paper stacking part 2. The detecting means 7 is composed of a lever 9 oscillated by the presence of paper 1, and an optical sensor for detecting the presence of paper 1 through the shielding and shielding release of light at one end by the oscillation of the lever 9. The lever 9 is so constituted as to be positioned to detect the presence of the paper 1 before delivery and at the time of starting delivery action, to be positioned in a no-paper state after the delivery of the paper 1 and to be disposed again in a position of detecting the presence of the paper 1 after being once positioned in a paper existing state after the passage of the rear end of the paper 1.

    • PURPOSE:To perform the optimum recording corresponding to recording paper or temp, by adjusting the emitting amount of ink by changing the time from the second increase of internal volume to the second reduction thereof to control a recording state. CONSTITUTION:An electromechanical converter 11d is driven using the first and second driving pulses DP1, DP2 and the internal volume of an ink chamber 11c is increased and subsequently decreased and, after a predetermined time, the internal volume of the ink chamber 11c is again increased and decreased to inject an ink liquid droplet from a nozzle 11a. At this time, when recording density (ink jet amount) is desired to be changed, the time width (from the second increase of internal volume to the second decrease thereof) of the second driving pulse DP2 is adjusted by a time variable part 12b. When the time width of the second driving pulse DP2 is controlled, the diameter of the ink or the amount of the ink liquid droplet can be changed and recording density can be controlled. By this method, a recording state can be improved corresponding to paper quality or room temp.

    • PURPOSE:To enable an amount of ink to be discarded by purging operation to be reduced to the minimum by discharging certainly babbles and ink made more viscous in a nozzle by a method wherein opening of an air valve attached to a pressure chamber on a non-operation side of a pump cylinder is adjusted. CONSTITUTION:A head 2 is moved to a position opposed to a sucking opening 8 of a purging mechanism 4, and the sucking opening 8 is stuck fast to a nozzle 7. When a lever 12 is clockwise rotated, a piston 11 advances left. A volume of a pressure chamber 10a increases, and bubbles, viscous ink, etc. inside the nozzle pass through a check valve 13 and enter the pressure chamber 10a. Thereafter, when motion of the lever 12 is stopped and the piston 11 is supported, pressure in the pressure chamber 10a is little by little increased by an inflow of ink from the sucking opening 8 and retreat of the piston 11. However, when this speed is too high, bubbles and ink made more viscous can be not sufficiently removed from the nozzle 7 and good purging operation is not performed. An air valve 15 capable of adjusting its opening is attached to a non operation side pressure chamber 10b, and a damping function of an air damper is freely adjusted according to opening of the air valve 15.
