    • PURPOSE:To form the proper mixed gas at a low temperature by determining the parameters of a compensating means on the basis of the output information of the first detecting means for accelerating speed, etc. and the second detecting means for air-fuel ratio so that the difference from a set aimed value reduces. CONSTITUTION:An aimed value setting means 6 receives the stepping-ON quantity of an accelerator pedal and sets an aimed torque and air-fuel ratio, and calculates the aimed values x1 and x2 and outputs them. Though the deterioration of the responsiveness accompanied with the delay of supply is prevented by adding the compensating means 4 and 5, the compensation fuel is applied with the influences of the distillation characteristic, temperature of cylinder, etc., and the torque of an engine 1, the value such as accelerating speed related to the torque, and the air-fuel ratio are detected by the first and second detecting means 7 and 8, and the parameters of the compensating means 4 and 5, i.e., the parameters such as the vaporization performance of the fuel and the temperature of the cylinder which are related to the optimization of the mixed gas in the cylinder are determined by a parameter setting means 9 on the basis of these detected values. Therefore, even during the low temperature operation or warming operation in which temperature changes each time, the optimization of the mixed gas in the cylinder can be secured.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately detect a local air-fuel ratio in proximity to an ignition plug in a combustion chamber by detecting applied discharge voltage to the ignition plug and jump spark light of the ignition plug, and by calculating the air-fuel ratio from these detected results. CONSTITUTION:A combustion light detecting end 1 integrated with an ignition plug is provided in an engine 2, and spark light and combustion light are converted to electric signals by introducing the lights from this detecting end 1 into a photoelectric converter 4 through an optical fiber cable 3. This converted electric signal is input into a control unit 5 accompanied with an output signal from a discharge voltage detector 7 which detects discharge voltage at the ignition plug. Fuel injection timing of an injector 8 is controlled by calculating local air-fuel ratio in proximity to the ignition plug based on both signals. This detecting end 1 is constructed by inserting a light guide 9 made from fused quartz fiber and the like, so as to penetrate a center axis of a center electrode 10 and a high tension terminal 11 of the ignition plug.

A control signal is thereby outputted to an ignition timing control means 12 and a fuel quantity or air quantity control means 13, and the air-fuel ratio of a mixture and ignition timing are controlled.

The photoconductor 2 is formed of the quartz optical fiber 2a which has outer periphery covered with a metallic pipe 8 and the core 2c and clad 3d made of quartz and the many-component optical fiber 2b connected to the output terminal of the quartz optical fiber 2, and the input terminal of the quartz optical fiber 2a is projected from the casing 1 to the combustion chamber side.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a quick knocking detection having higher accuracy of each cylinder by generating an ion current after impression of high voltage for ignition to an ignition plug and by separating the knocking with the voltage change accompanying ion current. CONSTITUTION:When a cylinder 1 equipped with an ignition plug 15 is in a later stage of compression stroke, a cylinder 4 equipped with an ignition plug 16 becomes in the later stage of air exhaust stroke. When a transistor TR30 is hence operated, an electric current is generated in the direction A2, discharge occurs on plugs 15, 16 and the voltage change accompanying the discharge phenomenon of the plug 15 is remarkably extracted in a voltage detector 43. Next, when an ion current in the direction B2 is flowed to the secondary side of a coil 28 with the operation of TR31 at the time of a point (b), the plug 15 is in a high electric potential and the detector 43 detects remarkably the voltage change accompanied by the discharge phenomenon of the plug 15. In case of the plug 16 similarly as well, the discharge of ignition is taken place with the operation of TR30 by the plug 16 and the operation is made in order that the vibration change of ion current due to the pressure vibration accompanied by the knocking of the cylinder is expressed at the plug 16 with the operation of TR31.
