    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for monitoring a welded state for enabling a molten state, a butting state, or other state of an electric-resistance-welded pipe on-line more accurately than in the past.SOLUTION: Brightness information or temperature information of a steel plate of a welded part is obtained by using a lens for enlarging an image based on the light radiated from the welded part and picking up the image when heating and welding both ends of the steel plate, and an image pickup means having an image pickup element which picks up the image from the upstream side of a manufacturing line and converts the picked-up image into the image data based on the image data obtained thereby. The one-dimensional brightness information or temperature information in the thickness direction of the steel plate of the welded part is calculated from the obtained brightness information or temperature information. The molten state of the steel plate in the welded part and the butting state of the steel plate are analyzed by using the calculated one-dimensional brightness information or temperature information.
