    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the emission of fuel steam without increasing a canister capacity, by reducing an emission of fuel steam from a fuel tank, regulating an air-intake from the canister air opening. SOLUTION: One end of a canister 3 filled with activated carbon is connected to a fuel steam passage 2 channeled to a fuel tank 1 whereas the other end is connected to an air-conducting passage 5. An air valve 6 is provided in a midpoint of the air-conducting passage 5, and this is designed that the valve is opened when there is a positive pressure in the fuel tank 1 and closed when it is turned to a negative pressure because of the decrease of inner pressure of the fuel tank 1 to maintain the condition up to a set pressure around the pressure limit for the negative pressure of fuel tank 1. When it reaches the set pressure, the air inducing passage 5 is momentarily released. Raising the negative open valve pressure for the air valve 6 to in the vicinity of pressure limit of the fuel tank 1 minimizes air-intake at compression of steam inside the tank, thereby reducing the emission of fuel steam.
