    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduces vibrations and noise by inhibiting hunting in ISC control without causing engine stalling during idle operation of a flexible fuel internal combustion engine (for example, engine 1) capable of using alcohol-containing fuel.SOLUTION: A determination is made whether a first condition that a temperature state of an internal combustion engine is cold at a predetermined value or below and an alcohol concentration of fuel is higher than or equal to a predetermined value is satisfied and whether a second condition that indicates that a probability that the internal combustion engine stalls is lower than or equal to a predetermined level is satisfied (steps S5, S7). When both of the first and second conditions are satisfied, control over an intake amount is limited (step S8); whereas, when at least one of the first and second conditions is not satisfied, the limit is not applied (step S6).

    • A fuel supply apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes: a feed pump capable of feeding a fuel of the internal combustion engine; a high pressure fuel pump that pressurizes the fuel fed from the feed pump; and a second injector that supplies the pressurized high-pressure fuel to the internal combustion engine selectively. An ECU of the fuel supply apparatus includes: a pulsation width detection unit that detects a pulsation width in a pressure of the fuel fed from the feed pump to the high pressure fuel pump; and a feeding condition determination unit that determines that a condition variation causing fuel vapor to form in the fuel fed to the high pressure fuel pump has occurred when the pulsation width detected by the pulsation width detection unit falls rapidly to a preset threshold variation width.

    • PURPOSE:To secure control of accurate fuel injection quantity and timing, by a method wherein a conical valve opening and closing an inflow opening of a servo-piston chamber is provided and accurate operation of the conical valve is secured. CONSTITUTION:Through holes 101 and 102 in an axial direction are formed on a static core 89 and an active core 90 respectively. While those through holes are provided so that they are within a discharge duct of fuel from a conical valve chamber 40 and up and down movements of the active core 90 is made to guide by a guide component 105 made of non-magnetic material so that the active core 90 does not turn during operation of the guide component 105. A discharge duct 100, therefore, of fuel from the conical valve chamber making the through hole 102 formed on the active core 90 into a part of the conical valve chamber maintains a favorable conduction state and a fuel jet flow is prevented from colliding against the bottom of the active core 90, through which accurate operation of the conical valve is secured.
