摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent an edge from lapping during welding by setting up a butting angle of upward side faces and performing welding under the pressure of upper and lower rolls and right and left rolls. CONSTITUTION:A blank material 5, which is corner-bended in the processes up to a fin-path-roll 9 to form into an open section of roughly square-shaped, is sent to welding roll 10 in the next position. The material 5 is pressed from the periphery by the welding roll 10, 15, whereby, since for the roll 15 a caliber of welding rolls having a prescribed butting angle theta on upward faces composed of upper rolls 15a and 15b is used, therefore edges of upper side faces 21 and 22 make a weld juncture 11 without occurrence of overlaps and flaps. A square-shaped metallic tube 12 having the juncture 11 on its upward face is adjusted its sectional shape and its longitudinal shape through a Turk's head roll 13 for leveling, then, it is cut in a required length, thereby the product is made.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture a square steel pipe while preventing the reduction of wall thickness at the corners, by applying a butt welding to side edges for forming a square blank pipe wherein the outside radius of curvature of corners and the outside circumferential length are respectively made pescribedly larger than those of a purposed product, and by passing this square blank pipe through a sizing mill. CONSTITUTION:A flat steel sheet material is bent at each of four corners, and the longitudinal side edges are butt welded to form a square blank pipe. Hereupon, the outside radius of curvature of each corner is limited in a range from 1.2 times the outside radius of curvature of the corner of a purposed product to less than the radius of a parent pipe which is defined as follows. That is, the parent pipe is a round pipe having a diameter obtained by dividing the outer circumferential length of the said square blank pipe by the circular constant pi. Moreover, the outer circumferential length of the square blank pipe is made 1.002-1.02 times the outer circumferential length of the product. The square blank pipe with thus regulated dimensions is passed through a sizing mill in order to finish it into a square steel pipe with the prescribed shape and dimensions of the product. According to the present method, the reduction of wall thickness to be caused by the corner bending work is restored so that a wall thickness larger than the initial sheet thickness can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a square shaped metallic tube efficiently and with a slight inflicted change in the mechanical property of material by guiding a corner-bended blank material of a square shaped tube to welding rolls, performing butt welding its edges and leveling four side faces. CONSTITUTION:A beltlike material 1 is bent at positions 4, 4 so as to leave widths in both end parts by an upward cornerbending roll 3, the middle part of 4, 4 is then bent so as to make right and left sides and a downward side. Then, forcing a fin roll 9a into a gap between edges of upward opening, and pushing a blank material in a caliber consisting of a frange roll 9b, right and left side rolls 9c and a lower roll 9d from 4 sides, thereby its cross section gets near a square shape. A welding roll 10 is then screwed-down and is fitted to the upper and lower rolls and right and left side rolls, then performing an electric butt welding the edge of the downward opening, thereby, a square shaped metallic tube 12 having a welding juncture 11 on its upward side face is made. This tube 12 is adjusted its sectional shape and its longitudinal shape through a Turk's head roll 13 for leveling, and is cut by a desired length to make a product.
