CONSTITUTION:In a composition where the plural number (eight each shown in the figure) of photoelectric transducers 10a through 10h as an optical sensor 10 which senses the head light from a car running on the opposite lane, are arranged in a same plane, one (10a) of these transducers is used for the detection of dark current so as to output only dark current at all times whereby the overall surface of the transducer is covered with an AL electrode 15 of a cathode side. Besides, the upper and lower portion of the photoelectric transducers 10b, 10c, 10g, and 10h are covered with the Al electrode 15 of the cathode side, and the change of their electrode section allows their directional angle to up and down to be changeable. Moreover, a P layer of the photoelectric transducers 10d through 10f is not made to be covered with the AL electrode 15 of the cathode side.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to precisely change over the beams of head lights between high and low beam modes, by enabling light rays from received form a vehicle ahead of the instant vehicle to be discriminated from the reflected light rays of the received light at the instant vehicle, in accordance with the distributions of brightness of the received light in the horizontal areas of the front section of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A head light change-over device comprises a lens 10 and a light receiving element 1 composed of a plurality of photo-electric elements 20 through 125 which are horizontally arranged. This light receiving device 1 receives light rays having even a small incident angle and divides them into several areas which are horizontally different, and issues signals indicating variations in the amount of light received at the areas. The output signals from the light receiving device 1 are successively delivered to a microcomputer 5 through a multiplexer 2, an amplifier 3 and an A/D converter 4, and therefore, the microcomputer 5 determines the change-over between the high and low beam modes of head lights. Further, with the result of the judgment, a relay 7 is controlled by means of a relay drive section 6 so that the headlights are changed over between the high beam side and the low beam side.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the physical quantity of a body to be detected with a container and the like being intact, by providing electrodes on the container and the like, and detecting the electrostatic capacity of the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A pair of electrodes 54a and 54b is provided on the outer surface of an insulated container 1, which includes a fluid to be detected. When a liquid surface 22 is lower than the attaching height of the electrodes, the electrostatic capacity formed by the electrodes 54a and 54b becomes a value determined by the specific dielectric constant of the container 1. When a liquid surface 21 is higher than the attaching height of the electrodes 54a and 54b, the electrostatic capacity becomes a value determined by both specific dielectric constants of the container 1 and the liquid 2. An oscillating circuit is formed on a printed board 53. The oscillating circuit and the electrodes 54a and 54b are operationally connected by pins 57 and 58. Since the electrostatic capacity of the electrodes 54a and 54b is changed by the height of the liquid surface, the oscillating frequency of the oscillating circuit, which is connected to the electrodes 54a and 54b, becomes the frequency determined by the electrostatic capacity based on the height of the liquid surface. Namely, the change in the amount of the liquid is outputted and detected as the difference in frequency.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to alcohol and prevent the disconnection of a wire or the leakage of fuel by a method wherin a solenoid coil is fixed in the housing of a fuel injection timing detector with ceramic and the opening of a lead wire introducing path is sealed hermetically. CONSTITUTION:The solenoid coil 81 is made by winding the lead wire 81b, covered by polyamide, around the coil bobbin 81a of ceramic of almina series prominent in the resistance to alcohol, and is fixed rigidly to the inside of the housing by ceramic series bonding agent 82 poured through a through hole 8a provided in the housing side wall of the detector 8. An enamel wire 83 is introduced into the lead wire introducing path 1b and is connected to the hermetically 10 provided in the opening of the path 1b. The hermetic is made by inserting a connector pin into a molten glass plate to which metal plating is applied and the introducing path 1b is isolated perfectly from atmosphere by soldering the periphery of the glass plate to the wall of the path. According to this method, the solenoid coil is held stably and alcohol will never leak out of the injector even if the alcohol is mixed into a cylindrical body.

    • PURPOSE: To ensure a proper switch between a calling action and a detecting action for rear obstacles, by using usually an ultrasonic wave receiver set at the rear part of a car for talking with following cars and for detection of rear obstacles when having no call.
      CONSTITUTION: A detector 100 for rear obstacles consists of an obstacle detector 7 and an alarm 8; and a calling device contains a receiver 4, a transmitter 5 and a calling unit 6. When a handset 211 is removed from a case, the detector 100 stops its working at that moment. Thus only the device 200 workds. At the same time, the device 200 works at all times. An ultrasonic wave receiving signal is supplied to the unit 6 while the detector 100 is active. The detector 100 has an impulsive ultrasonic wave, and a deciding device has no response to an impulsive signal. As a result, no malfunction arises. Therefore an ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver 1 can be used in common to the detector 100 and the device 200 with no problem.
