    • A variable capacity fluid pump that can be controlled independently of the rotation of the engine is provided. The fluid pump comprises a planetary gear mechanism 12 having a first gear 20, second gears 22 and a third gear 18. The second gears are connected to a crankshaft of the engine and transmits a rotational force of the crankshaft. The third gear is connected to the fluid pump. The fluid pump further comprises braking means 14 connected to the first gear. The breaking means generates a braking force upon the first gear. The fluid pump further comprises a one-way clutch 16 provided between the second gears and the third gear. The braking means controls a rotational speed of the first gear so that a rotational speed of the fluid pump is controlled independently of a rotational speed of the crankshaft of the engine.

The cover (290) has an inside surface (500) in which walls (510) are formed extending from the inside surface (500) to form channels (520). A plate (530) covers the channels (520) to form passages that allow the flow of oil from various inlets (540, 560) to various outlets (280, 550) in the passages, but does not necessarily completely seal the channels. The plate (530) is secured to the inside surface (500) of the cover by threaded members (580) that are inserted through fastening apertures (590) in the plate (530) and are threaded into corresponding internally threaded apertures (600) in the inside surface (500) of the cover (290).

    • Die Erfindung betrifft eine Ölauffangvorrichtung und eine Ölpumpe für eine Brennkraftmaschine mit einem unterhalb eines Kurbelgehäuses (8) angeordneten Ölauffanggehäuse (2), das mindestens zwei Ölsammelräume (12, 20) aufweist, wobei in einem ersten Ölsammelraum (12) eine Ölpumpe (10) mit zwei Pumpenstufen (18, 26) angeordnet ist, an deren beiden Absaugstufen (34, 44) jeweils eine Ölabsaugleitung (16, 24) angeschlossen ist, wobei die erste Ölabsaugleitung (16) in den ersten Ölsammelraum eingreift, um das Schmieröl über die Druckseite (36) der ersten Pumpenstufe (18) zu den Verbrauchern zu fördern und dass die zweite mit der zweiten Absaugstufe (44) verbundene Ölabsaugleitung (24) zu'einem zweiten Ölsammelraum (20) führt. Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass das Gehäuse (10a) der Ölpumpe (10) auf seiner Oberseite eine mit der Druckseite (46) der zweiten Pumpenstufe (26) verbundene Öffnung (48) aufweist, über die das aus dem zweiten Ölsammelraum (20) abgesaugte Öl in den ersten Ölsammelraum (12) überführt wird. Damit wird auf einfache Art und Weise eine Entschäumung des abgesaugten Schmieröls erreicht.
