摘要： A compact printer system consists of at least a printer module and a range of further modules. The modules are connectable together to form a rod-shaped printer system. Each module has a connection means at one or both ends for interconnection of the modules. The connection means include a physical connection means and logical connection means. 摘要： A printer apparatus is provided with a frame memory (7) for storing a printing pattern, a printing head (11) driven in accordance with the printing pattern stored in the frame memory (7), and a processor for producing a plurality of graphic patterns in the frame memory (7) in accordance with a plurality of items of printing data which are externally supplied, to thereby form a printing pattern. The processor of the printer apparatus includes a buffer memory (4) and a CPU (1). The buffer memory (4) stores image distribution data indicating a frame memory area which is occupied by the image portion of the graphic pattern corresponding to printing data to be changed and from which the marginal portions of the graphic pattern is excluded. When printing data which should be used in place of the printing data to be changed is supplied, the CPU (1) reads the image distribution data relating to the printing data to be changed out of the distribution data memory, and clears the frame memory area specified by the image distribution data.

Dazu wird der Text mit einem der Typenträger geschrieben, wobei vor allen Textstellen, die mit den Zeichen eines anderen Typenträgers geschrieben werden sollen, ein Funktionsbefehl erster Art eingegeben wird. Der danach eingegebene Text wird im Speicher (4) abgelegt, das Schreibwerk führt für jedes Zeichen einen Leerschritt aus, das Zeichen wird aber nicht abgedruckt. Am Ende der Texteingabe wird der Typenträger (7) gewechselt, woraufhin ein Funktionsbefehl zweiter Art ein speichergesteuertes Positionieren des Schreibwerkes in die Textlücken und positionsgerechtes Ausschreiben der Zeichen veranlaßt.

摘要： A memory module useful in a digital imaging system such as a compact printer system. The memory module includes an image processor that compresses an image read from an image source, such as a camera module or a printer module. The compressed image is stored in a flash memory. Images stored in the flash memory may be decompressed and transferred to the printer module, or other modules. The memory module preferably incorporates two connection means. One or other of the connection means connect to modules of the compact printer system and the other connection means allows further memory modules to be stacked. The connection means includes a physical connection and a logical connection. The logical connection is a serial bus that communicates power and data. Buttons are provided to select images, store images from and transfer images to the printer module. Images may be accessed at full resolution or thumbnail resolution. Feedback is provided via a LCD.

摘要： A method of, and apparatus for, dithering an image to be printed. Color component values of odd and even pixels of an image are stored in a dither cell. The dither cell is mapped to a staggered dither cell such that lines of odd pixel component values are staggered relative to lines of even pixel component values. Addressing of the staggered dither cell is determined by an address generator that also addresses a buffer storing an up-interpolated image. Corresponding values in the staggered dither cell and the buffer are compared to determine which nozzles of a printhead are fired.
