    • An electric motor (2) includes a yoke (5) having a cylindrical magnet housing section (54) that houses a magnet (7), and a gear housing (23) having a cylindrical frame section (22) that houses at least a brush holder. One side of the yoke (5) is joined to the other side of the frame section (22), and a rotary shaft is housed in the magnet housing section (54) and the frame section (22) in an axial direction of the magnet housing section (54) and the frame section (22). A first axial length (F) is formed to be equal to or longer than a second axial length (Y), the first axial length (F) is an axial length of an outer wall of the frame section (22) that is formed substantially parallel to the rotary shaft, and the second axial length (Y) is an axial length of an outer wall of the magnet housing section (54) that is formed substantially parallel to the rotary shaft.

    • A motor unit of which the size is reduced by reducing the space of a control circuit section. In the motor unit integrating a motor and a drive control section (4), the drive control section (4) has a stack structure where two circuit component containing sections (33, 34) are arranged three-dimensionally with a bus bar (37) being arranged between both containing sections (33, 34). A printed wiring board (38) mounting signal system circuit components, e.g. a rotation sensor (40) and a position sensor (41), is arranged in the circuit component containing section (33). Power system circuit components, e.g. an FET (44) and a relay (45), are arranged in the circuit component containing section (34). The power system circuit components are mounted directly on the bus bar (37) and arranged substantially in parallel with the printed wiring board (38) across the bus bar (37). The circuit component containing section (34) is arranged on the outer surface side of the unit with respect to the circuit component containing section (33) and a heat sink (32) is fixed to the outside thereof.

    • A motor gear box has a direct current motor, a first bevel gear, a second bevel gear, a pinion transfer gear, at least one cluster gear, an output gear, an output shaft, and a collar abutting against the output gear and surrounding the output shaft. The motor gear box also includes a frame formed integrally with the collar, a first cover to protect the motor, and a second cover having a cradle formed integrally therein. The output shaft has at one end a stepped down shaft portion held in the cradle and at an opposite end a hollow internal chamber formed to receive a protuberance of a device requiring the delivery of high torque to carry out a task in a small space. A programmable control board is attached to one side of the motor; an electrode tip is arranged on a top of the motor; a lead harness assembly is secured around the electrode tip; and an L-shaped connection rod links the lead harness assembly to the control board to conserve space.
