    • The present invention relates to a ground terminal for an electronic device (10). The ground terminal comprises a ground cable connecting device (202), an electrical switch (204), an electrical conductor (206) connecting the ground cable connecting device (202) to the electrical switch (204).
      The ground terminal and its ground cable connecting device (202) is configured so that the electrical switch (204) is brought in to a first mode in response to an electrical wire (26; 404) being connected to the ground cable connecting device (202), the first mode being a mode in which the switch (204) establish electrical conduction between an electrical circuit (236) of the electronic device (10) and the ground cable connecting device (202).
      Moreover, the ground terminal and its ground cable connecting device (202) is configured so that the electrical switch (204) is in a second mode when no electrical wire (26; 404) is connected to the ground cable connecting device (202), the second mode being a mode in which the switch (204) is electrically isolating the electrical circuit (236) of the electronic device (10) and the ground cable connecting device (202) from each other.

    • The present disclosure is directed to an electrosurgical system. The electrosurgical system includes an electrosurgical generator configured to output electrosurgical energy and including a receptacle having at least one mechanical interface. The system also includes an electrosurgical instrument adapted to connect to the electrosurgical generator and configured to deliver energy to tissue. Further, a plug is provided to engage the receptacle to electrically couple the electrosurgical instrument to the electrosurgical generator. The plug includes a terminal electrically coupled to the electrosurgical instrument and a prong electrically coupled to the terminal that includes a recess defined therein and is configured to receive the at least one mechanical interface. When the plug is disengaged from the receptacle, the at least one mechanical interface cooperates with the recess to uncouple the prong from the terminal.

    • The position where the pointed part of a moving-side terminal comes into sliding contact with an insert is substantially identical to the position where the pointed part of the moving-side terminal touches the upper surface of a terminal plate in a connector.
