    • The present invention relates to an anti-tamper cam system 2 used to selectively operate a safety interlock switch 6. The cam system 2 comprising a cam 12 selectively rotatable between two positions in order to activate the switch 6. The cam 12 has a locking system 20, 22; 32a, 32b to lock the cam 12 in one of its positions. The locking system 20, 22; 32a, 32b comprises a separate mechanical locks 20, 22; 32a, 32b on each side of the cam 12, each of which must be unlocked using a dedicated key actuator 8 before the cam 12 can be rotated to its other position.

    • According to the present invention there is provided a safety switch safety switch, comprising: a body, comprising: a contact block provided with at least two fixed contacts, a contact block plunger provided with a bridge contact, the contact block plunger being moveable to move the bridge contact into and out of electrical connection with the two fixed contacts; and a biasing element, arranged to bias the contact block plunger towards a control mechanism of the safety switch; and the safety switch further comprising a head, comprising: at least a part of the control mechanism, engageable with an actuator, and moveable to control movement of the contact block plunger upon engagement or withdrawal of the actuator, the control mechanism being moveable from a first configuration, where the actuator is withdrawn and the contact block plunger is in a position that keeps the fixed contacts and bridge contacts out of electrical connection with one another, to a second configuration, where the actuator is engaged and the contact block plunger is in a position that brings the bridge contact into electrical connection with, and bridges, the two fixed contacts, and wherein the safety switch further comprises: a magnetically operable switch located in the body; and a magnetisable material that extends from a part of the safety switch proximate to a location of engagement of the actuator, to a region proximate to the magnetically operated switch.

    • According to the present invention, there is provided a safety switch, comprising: a body; a fixed pair of contacts fixed in position in the body; a contact plunger provided with a bridge contact extending across the contact plunger and protruding from sides of the contact plunger, the contact plunger being moveable to move the bridge contact into and out of electrical connection with the fixed pair of contacts; a biasing element, arranged to bias the contact plunger towards a control mechanism and to bias the bridge contact of the contact plunger toward the fixed pair of contacts; the control mechanism being engageable with an actuator, and being moveable to control movement of the contact plunger upon engagement or withdrawal of the actuator, the control mechanism being moveable from a first configuration, where the mechanism resists movement of the contact plunger and keeps the fixed contacts and bridge contacts out of electrical connection with one another, to a second configuration, where the control mechanism allows the contact plunger to move to bring the bridge contact into electrical connection with the fixed pair of contacts, and wherein the safety switch further comprises: a signal emitter and a signal detector positioned in the body; the contact plunger, or a structure between the contact plunger and the control mechanism, being arranged to selectively allow or prevent passage of an emitted signal from the signal emitter to the signal detector depending on the position of the contact plunger, or structure between the contact plunger and the control mechanism, relative to the signal emitter and detector; and control circuitry in connection with the signal detector, and arranged to generate a control signal if the emitted signal is not detected by the signal detector. In another aspect of the invention, control circuitry is in connection with the signal detector, and arranged to generate a control signal if the emitted signal is detected by the signal detector
