摘要： A radar device capable of removing noise signals before digital conversion and detecting an object with high precision by a simple configuration is provided. In a transmitting RF unit 110, a signal switch 141 is switched so that the noise signal generated by the operation of a first switch 111 passes through a signal delaying device 142. 摘要： A method of pulsed radar interface determination for a first and second material in a tank. An interface level determination model is provided including a transfer function that utilizes refractive indices for the materials and thickness of the second material. At least one actual radar pulse is transmitted into the tank and a resulting echo curve portion including a measured interface pulse(s) around the interface location is measured. The interface model is simulated with a reference pulse and an initial thickness value to generate an initial model generated interface pulse (initial MGIP). The measured interface pulse is compared to the initial MGIP pulse point-by-point to determine residuals. If the residuals sum >a predetermined threshold, the comparing is repeated with an updated interface model generated with an updated thickness value that provides an updated MGIP pulse. When the sum of residuals is ≦̸predetermined threshold, the thickness is determined.

摘要： An analog front end for a radar system and method of operation are described. A transmitter circuit transmits a radar signal and a receiver circuit receives and processes a reflected radar signal and outputs a received radar signal. A timing circuit controls operation of the transmitter circuit and the receiver circuit and outputs a valid data signal indicating whether the receiver circuit will be receiving the reflected radar signal. A converter converts the received radar signal and outputs digital data. A serialising circuit receives the digital data and supplies a serial data stream including the digital data for a data processing device. The valid data signal is also communicated to the converter to cause the converter to output a bit pattern corresponding to a code word when the valid data signals indicates that the receiver circuit will not be receiving the reflected radar signal and to output a bit pattern corresponding to a data word including radar data when the valid data signals indicates that the receiver circuit will be receiving the reflected radar signal.

The impact of amplitude noise or phase noise associated with interferers, namely, for example, strong reflections from nearby objects, and electromagnetic coupling from transmit antenna to receive antenna, on the detection of other surrounding objects is reduced by configuring the signal shifter in response to an interferer frequency and phase offset.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide for improved estimation of environmental parameters in a dual-polarization radar system. In some embodiments, environmental parameters can be estimated using a linear combination of data received in two orthogonal polarization states. In particular, embodiments of the invention improve ground clutter and noise mitigation in dual polarization radar systems. Moreover, embodiments of the invention also provide for systems to determine the differential reflectivity and/or the magnitude of the co-polar correlation coefficient and the differential phase in a dual polarization radar system.
