摘要： A coupling assembly having an overrun mode and a channeled locking member are provided. The locking member has a ramped, open channel extending through a nose and main body of the locking member to an upper face of the main body. The locking member is movable between first and second positions. The first position is a coupling position and the second position is an uncoupling position. Pressurized fluid directed to a bottom of the channel urges the locking member towards the second position upon rotation of a first member of the assembly in a first direction relative to a second member of the assembly above a predetermined RPM to prevent abutting engagement of the locking member with a shoulder of the first member in the overrun mode.

摘要： A coupling and control assembly includes a coupling subassembly and a control subassembly integrated with the coupling subassembly. The control subassembly has a reciprocating member and actuators operatively connected to the reciprocating movement for controlled reciprocating movement therewith to move or pivot respective struts received within pockets of a coupling member of the coupling subassembly. The reciprocating member converts a pressure of a working fluid at its working face to move linearly together with the actuators from its first position which corresponds to a first operating mode of the coupling subassembly to its second position which corresponds to a second operating mode of the coupling subassembly.

摘要： An electromechanical assembly to control the operating mode of a coupling apparatus is provided. The apparatus has drive and driven members supported for rotation relative to one another about a common rotational axis and at least one strut for selectively mechanically coupling the members together. The assembly includes a first subassembly including a stator having at least one electromagnetically inductive coil to create a magnetic flux when the at least one coil is energized. 摘要： An electromechanically actuated coupling and control assembly is provided. In one embodiment, an overrunning clutch and control assembly having first and second operating modes is provided. The clutch and control assembly includes first and second clutch members supported for rotation relative to one another about a common rotational axis. The first and second clutch members have respective coupling faces that oppose each other. The coupling face of one of the clutch members has a pocket. The coupling face of the other clutch member has a locking formation. The assembly further includes a strut received within the pocket in the coupling face of the one clutch member and has an end that is pivotally movable outwardly of the pocket. The assembly still further includes a biasing spring. The assembly further includes an electromechanical apparatus including an actuator mounted for controlled linear reciprocating motion and in communication with the pocket. The assembly still further includes communication apparatus for wirelessly communicating electrical power from a source of electrical power to the electromechanical apparatus to cause the actuator to linearly move and pivot the strut end against the bias of the spring from a first position which corresponds to the first operating mode to a second position which corresponds to the second operating mode.

摘要： An overrunning coupling assembly and a method of controlling the engagement of planar first and second members are provided wherein the assembly includes clustered pawls and their respective pawl-holding portions. The planar first and second members have inside surfaces extending generally normal to a first axis. The pawls include a forward set of free-floating pawls and a reverse set of free- floating, clustered pawls. The forward and reverse sets of pawls are movable between a notch-engaging, engaged position and a disengaged position. Because of the clustering, a control element, disposed between the first and second surfaces, need not be fully circular and is controllably rotatable about the first axis between first and second angular positions relative to the first member.

A spline locking ring (48) contacts the spring on an end opposite of the clutch. A friction dog spline (88) engages the surface of the spline locking ring while a differential ramp ring (102) contacts the friction dog spline. The axle disconnect device also includes a cover ramp (108) engaging the differential ramp ring.

摘要： One-way clutches having different numbers of pawls (1006, 1007) and pockets in a 'vernier' arrangement minimise relative rotation between the two clutch halves (101, 102) in the engagement direction. Noise is also reduced. Directionally sensitive biasing means (1008) rather than springs are used in one-way clutches for extending or retracting inertially balanced swivelling pawls (1006,1007). In another embodiment, a reversible one-way clutch uses a gear train to drive a worm screw synchronised with teeth on a driven worm gear, when freewheeling. Controlled backlash places the worm in either a contact mode (when engagement occurs) or a non-contact (disengaged) mode when driven in an opposite direction.
