Also, a superheater mechanism for heating the thermal energy output and an expansion engine coupled to a generator. Some embodiments of the system further include a condenser for condensing the vapor output, a pump for pumping the vapor output and a boiler in fluid communication with the pump. The pump pumps the vapor output to the boiler.

摘要： An auxiliary power system (100) for providing electrical power and heat to an indoor area includes an external combustion engine (101), such as a Stirling cycle engine (101), for generating mechanical energy and thermal energy. The external combustion engine burns a fuel with substantially complete combustion such that exhaust emissions from the external combustion engine are below a predetermined exhaust level. A generator (102) is coupled to the external combustion engine (101) and converts the mechanical energy produced by the external combustion engine (101) to electrical power. A first power output is used to provide the electrical power produced by the generator (102). The external combustion engine (101) and generator (102) are disposed within a housing such that the external combustion engine (101), generator (102) and housing combination is a portable size. The thermal energy generated by the external combustion engine (101) may be used to heat the atmosphere surrounding the housing.

摘要： A method of operation of an electric turbocompounding system for a reciprocating engine comprises the steps of retrieving from the engine ECU data pertaining to engine condition, retrieving from a set of turbine efficiency data an optimum turbogenerator speed at the engine condition, setting a desired turbogenerator set speed based on the engine condition and on a speed at which turbine efficiency is deemed to be optimum, measuring an output voltage of the turbogenerator, comparing the measured voltage with a pre-determined voltage range and where the measured voltage falls outside of the pre-determined voltage range, adjusting the turbogenerator set speed to reduce or increase the output voltage to within the pre-determined voltage range. The method also takes account of sudden increase in torque demand, such as accelaration, and additional exhaust gas recirculation (egr).
