    • The invention relates to a monitoring device for an catenary system (10) of an overhead line installation, which system has a contact wire (11) which is supported by a bearing cable (12) and has the purpose of feeding energy into an electrical traction vehicle. The monitoring device comprises at least one sensor unit for acquiring a signal which is triggered by a damaging event (B) in the catenary system (10), in particular in the contact wire (11). The at least one sensor unit is connected in a fixed fashion to the overhead line installation in a monitoring region. The monitoring device also comprises an evaluation unit for analysing the signal. According to the invention, the at least one sensor unit is embodied as an electroacoustic transducer (20, 21, 22, 23) which is acoustically coupled to the contact wire (11) in order to convert an acoustic signal caused by a damaging event (B) into an electrical signal (s). As a result, a monitoring device is made available with which the state of an overhead line system can be monitored cost-effectively in real time for a multiplicity of possible damaging events.

    • The invention relates to a contact line system (1) for traction supply of an electrical tractive vehicle (11). It comprises a contact line (4) which can be contacted by a current consumer (12) of the tractive vehicle (11) for energy transmission. It further comprises a central substation (3) for converting a supply voltage into a contact line voltage which is electrically connected to the contact line (11) via a section exit (5) for supplying of energy. It further comprises a protection device for interrupting the energy supply upon recognizing a failure which has a central measurement device (7) for measuring a parameter in the section exit (5) and an evaluation device (8) for recognizing a failure by evaluating a parameter measurement value. According to the invention, the protection device has decentrally arranged measurement units (9) for detecting parameters (I, F, S) outside of the substation (3) and a data transmission system (10) for transmitting parameter measurement values from the decentralized measurement units (9) to the evaluation device (8). The evaluation device (8) is designed to also evaluate the decentrally detected parameter measurement values for failure recognition. According to the invention, the availability of the contact line system (1) according to the invention is increased even when the contact line (4) of a supply section is traveled by multiple, in particular feedback-capable tractive vehicles (11).
