    • Proposed is a fuel-injection pump fitted with a piston (16) which controls the start of injection and which is designed as a follow-up piston to a control piston (28) located inside it. Located on one side of the piston is the working space (20), the pressure in which acts through the piston on a restoring spring (23), the piston being connected to an essentially stationary part of a cam drive in the fuel-injection pump. In order to avoid feedback effects of the working space (20) on the position of the control piston (28) and its adjustment, the motion of the control piston is efficiently damped by a separate pin (46) which extends into a dead-end bore (48).
