    • The invention refers to a procedure for controlling gear changes in transmissions for vehicles using an electronic control unit, which includes an automatic program and a manual program, where the automatic program performs a gear change as a function of recorded vehicle parameters through the electronic transmission control unit, while, when the manual program is selected by the driver, the gear change is performed by the driver corresponding to input from the driver to at least one shift device, and where a return function is envisaged, through which a return from the manual program to the automatic program can be carried out by recording an accelerator pedal setting (x Gsp ), where at least one of the following steps is performed:
