    • A control system (9) and a method for detecting an absolute steering wheel angle δ in a steering wheel system for a vehicle. A first angle sensor (15) is positioned in connection to a steering shaft (2) and a second angle sensor (16) is positioned in the steering wheel system for direct or indirect detection of movement of a steering rack (6) upon rotation of the steering wheel (1). The control system (9) is arranged to store a predetermined transfer ratio C 2 /C 1 between a value C 2 representing the gain of the second angle sensor (16) and C 1 representing the gain of the first angle sensor (15).     • The present invention relates to a system and method for controlling an air/fuel relationship of an internal combustion engine having a throttle and an intake manifold. It comprises means for calculating a true throttle area based on sampled measurements of operational data and models of variables, where each data sample is weighted by a weight factor determining its importance. Means are provided for estimating parameters of a correction equation through comparing the true throttle area to a modelled throttle area and minimizing the estimation error through optimization. Also provided are means for using the correction equation for controlling the air/fuel relationship of the internal combustion engine.

    • The present invention relates to a method for determining the time to collision between a host vehicle (1) and an oncoming target vehicle (2), and for determining the necessary host vehicle deceleration for bringing the host vehicle (1) to a standstill at the moment of collision. The method furthermore comprises the steps: (6) determining the position (P H ) of the host vehicle (1) as a function of time; (7) determining the position (P T ) of the target vehicle (2) as a function of time; (8) for the moment of collision, as a first condition, setting the position (P H ) of the host vehicle (1) equal to the position (P T ) of the target vehicle (2), and, as a second condition, setting the velocity (V H ) of the host vehicle (1) to zero; (9) using the positions and the conditions above to solve for the time to collision and the necessary host vehicle deceleration; and (10) choosing the solution for time to collision that is positive and has the largest value.
