Advantageously, parallax effects are compensated where the size of the observable images and the viewing distance create undesirable visual artifacts. Horizontally and vertically oriented lenticulated panels (112) are used in combination with interlaced images (146, 148) to convey the differently coded views without the need for physically manipulating such boxes as in the past to see equivalent information. Printed informational inserts (140) are provided with interlaced images (146, 148). These arrangements enhance the possibilities for displaying more and different kinds of information on a given box or display surface area.

摘要： A lenticular lens sheet (10) includes a substrate layer (15), a lens portion (12) having a lenticular lens configuration which is shaped so as to be convex on a light incident face side of the substrate layer (15) and an achromatic or chromatic colored layer (13) formed adjacent to at least a light incident face of the lens portion (12). The substrate layer (15) is not colored. Alternatively, it is colored thinner than the colored layer (13). With the arrangement, it is possible to restrict reflection of outside light and enhance the contrast of picture without reducing the intensity of image light so much. Further, it is possible to realize fine pitching of images.

摘要： in an optical device, small lenses (10A, 10B) are arranged in two or more rows to constitute a lens array (10), a plurality of such lens arrays (10, 11, 12) are superimposed with each other between first and second planes (13, 14), the distance (k+8) between the optical axes of the rows of small lenses (12A, 12B) in at least one lens array (12) is set to be different from the (K) in the remaining lens arrays (10, 11), and a multiple image (20A, 20B) of an optical image (19) on the first plane (13) is formed on an imaging surface (14). The distance between the optical axes can be changed by shifting the optical axis of one lens array among a plurality of small lenses forming one imaging system in the lens arrays from those of remaining lenses. The direction and amount of such lens offset are properly selected to suppress moire. Another important invention concerns a document reader having a lens system of such an optical device, a line image sensor having tricolor separation filters arranged in the imaging surface in the horizontal scanning direction in correspondence with picture elements, and filters arranged in the optical paths of corresponding rows of small lenses of the lens arrays and capable of transmitting light of corresponding colors. A multiple image is a double image or a triple image. Moire and color misregistration are prevented, and an image quality substantially equivalent to a color system having a plurality of color separation imaging surfaces is obtained.
