A plurality of adaptive filters is responsive to the combination signal. Each adaptive filter has a plurality of taps each having a coefficient. Each tap is switchable between an active and an inactive state. A control device provides for adjustment of the transfer function of at least one of the adaptive filters by selectively deactivating the taps while ensuring that the error of the communications system does not exceed the threshold error.

摘要： Aspects of the invention for posting buffers for a non-posting TCP application (402) may comprise posting at least one generic buffer (426) located in a memory external to a host adapter (406) and transferring incoming data for a TCP connection to the posted generic buffer prior to the non-posting TCP application posting a TCP application buffer for the incoming data. At least one generic buffer may be allocated from a pool of available generic buffers (426a, 426b, 426n) upon receipt of the incoming TCP connection data. At least a portion of the incoming data may be stored in the allocated generic buffer if the TCP application buffer is unable to accommodate the incoming data. The method may further determine whether the incoming data for the TCP connection transferred to the posted generic buffer is in sequence and ordering the incoming data based on a sequence number if the incoming data is out of sequence.

摘要： A memory management unit (MMU) for a network switch fabric for forwarding data is disclosed. The MMU has an ingress port interface receiving portions of a data packet and an egress port interface, connected to ingress ports of the fabric through an ingress bus ring. The MMU also includes a cell packer, that groups packet data into cells and a packet pool memory, that stores cells received from the cell packer. The MMU also includes a cell unpacker, where the cell unpacker separates stored cells before releasing the cells to an egress port. The MMU also includes an egress scheduler communicating with the cell unpacker, where the egress scheduler determines which packet data should be retrieved from the packet pool memory according to priority rules. The priority rules can be a deficit round robin scheduling algorithm or a weighted round robin scheduling algorithm.

The phase offsets are determined using trials of phase offsets to determine a selected set of phase offsets.
